July 10, 1999. I have been here 30 years, and every year, I am as impressed as I was the first! The first picture was taken at 10:30pm last night, and features one of my favorite models, Miss Tabitha and her pal, Patti, (a Beanie Buddy who's coloring matches the beautiful blossoms). I have never seen another patch! Well, I still consider myself lucky, as many have never been given the opportunity to view this truly unique sight! September 14, 1999. Fall has descended on us somewhat earlier than most places "outside" (outside being anywhere other than Alaska - mostly referring to the other 49 states). Fall is a very short season up here and can be missed in the blink of an eye. Depending on the wind, we usually have only a few days to capture autumn in all it's glory. The redish-gold on the mountains in the background are also forests of fall trees. And you don't have to be at the sea shore or any other special place!

Well, the fire's still going strong. Last I heard there were over 54,000 acres blazing! There's over 750 firefighters on the job and they've done a wonderful job protecting the cabins in the fire's path. Amazing what these Alaskan's can do! The winds have kicked up today and several new "hot spots" developed.check back for more news.maybe tomorrow.

Well, today the fire has increased to 62,000 acres and there are over 1,100 people working on it now! We had a little rain just a bit ago and the skies came alive with a double rainbow. The first picture (right) was taken in my driveway, and the second (below) is the view when I turned around to go back in the house! These pictures were taken a half an hour ago at midnight (digital cameras are great!

January 29, 1999. It's been some time since I've gotten back to this page, I guess I've been running on "Delta Time"! I thought I would bring you a little view of our climate in winter. Most people rely on the weatherman to predict the weather, but here in Delta, we have other ways of judging for ourselves what nature has in store for us. We have a phenomenom called "sun doggies". They are really unique, but also bring the forecast of a "chill to come"! I said, a warning from Mother Nature!
