I relish the freedom to make art about objects I love. Whatever my subject matter real or imagined I enjoy the challenge of creating a series of pictures that revolve around the same subject, but vary in composition, line, color, perspective and media. Examples of works from two different series are shown here: Rain Forest Foliage and Chair Shadows. Chair Shadows, pencil, 28 x 36. Rain Forest Foliage (l), gouache, 24 x 20. Rain Forest Foliage (II), gouache, 36 x 28. Website by KM Digital Design.

Glenside, PA 191038. Current paintings reflect my interest in 17th century Japanese woodcuts. The flattened elegance, graceful contours and beautiful proportions of these woodcuts speak to my interest in composition and edge.Although my images have roots in art dating from 17th century Japan, my choice of palette creates a contemporary interpretation that satisfies my desire for warm and luminous colors, harmony and balance.
