Life in southwestern Virginia mountains!
Notes from Nancy: October 2010
http://nancyroten.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html
Life in southwestern Virginia mountains! Tuesday, October 26, 2010. Last Sunday, my family had a small get-together at Mom and Daddy's. 5 of my cousins from North Carolina came up, my Aunt Mildred and her friend, Don, Uncle Doyle, my nephews, Jen, Keenan's girlfriend, my sister and brother-in-law, and George. Dawn and I cooked turkey, potato casserole, rolls, homemade vegetable beef soup, Mexican cornbread, Mom fixed green beans, and pumpkin cake for dessert. Daddy seemed to enjoy the day without one nap!

Life in southwestern Virginia mountains! Monday, May 25, 2009. View from my seat! I met Stephanie in Charlotte Sunday for the 50th Coca Cola 600 NASCAR race. (The race ticket was my Mothers' Day present! We went to the track about 11:30 am for the 5:30pm race. The minute we stepped out of the Jeep, it started to rain. We had ponchos over our Tony Stewart (me) and Dale Jr. (Steph) t-shirts, seat cushions, and NASCAR cooler! We sat in our seats on turn 1 for about 6 hours, watching the track dry! Mike and ...

Life on Grandma's Hill. Friday, August 26, 2011. Happy Birthday, DAD! Craig's had to get two plates for all he ate. This is a close up of what the omelets look like. Dad and his great grandkids. Life on Grandma's Hill. Thursday, January 23, 2014. Christmas Day morning is always spent at Mom's house. Second year without dad and it is still so hard to not see his sweet face sitting around the table and being around all his grandkids and great grandkids. He loved them so much. There have been 3 born since he has left us and I know he would have loved on them just as much as the others. Sunday, January 5, 2014. While we were cleaning up from dinner the kids were making gingerbread men.

Life on Grandma's Hill. Sunday, December 28, 2014. 2014 Winterplace trip to Virginia! Another year tradition at Winterplace! I love bringing the family to my hometown area. Wish Craig and his family could have made it. Buddy was taping Shelby coming down for her first time so, no pics, but Mitchell had already been down and was watching too. Kristin's smile tells it all. Looks like her eyes are closed here. But taking it all in here. I think Mitchell was going too fast and was trying to slow down.

Life on Grandma's Hill. Monday, December 29, 2014. Family and Friends 2014. Like last year we had a gathering of family and friends that we don't see very often. Life on Grandma's Hill. Wednesday, May 23, 2012. Birthday, Camping and Graduation. I have a bit of catching up to do with my blog. I have just gotten so lazy with keeping it up, since Facebook came along. First there was Trevor's 5th birthday party. He wanted a fishing cake and a party at the lake. So he had a really cute fishing cake and then. But he still has the cute smile on him even though he was so cold. They had a great time. Fish There are some huge carp in there and Mitchell was trying to hand f...

After I dropped mom off at Janet's house (Debbie's mom and my mom's friend) me and Shelby took off to Debbie's house. Alex and Shelby had a great time playing together. Today we packed a picnic lunch and took the girls to the park.
Life on Grandma's Hill: September 2012
http://beckyjs.blogspot.com/2012_09_01_archive.html
Life on Grandma's Hill. Sunday, September 2, 2012. Headed home Day 10. A little further south we found these. This is a monument that was built for the RevolutionaryWar. It was built in 1891. All I can say is WOW. How did they do that so many years ago. Look at the people at the very bottom that was how tall it was. Oh yea, I almost forgot about the Garlic and Herb Festival. Oh my, I could have spent some time there, but we didn't have long. There was everything you could think of that had garlic in it.

Link a questo post. Trieste, Sala Umberto Veruda. Link a q...

Friday, July 6, 2012. Happy Belated Birthday, America! Better late than never, that's what I always say! I spent that morning (as I have every morning since I began the task) painting the outside of the house. It looks really nice and I'm aghast at how badly it looked before! I could certainly grow accustomed to this lifestyle and am loving puttering around (and being up and around) on my own time. What a difference a year makes! It was an awesome find! Can't believe it's Friday again! So many things wer...
