Cooking with Nancy: KAPUSTA
http://cookingwithnancy.blogspot.com/2009/01/kapusta.html
Wednesday, January 7, 2009. This is a great New Year's dish, but we make it throughout the year, too. My father-in-law taught me how to make it not long after I was married. We have kind of 'tweeked' it over the years, though. 2 cups dry navy pea beans, partially cooked. 6 cups mashed potatoes. 4 cups cubed cooked ham (I prefer to use a butt ham for its flavor). 1 to 2 cups ham broth (saved from baking the ham). 2) Cook potatoes and mash well. This, also, can be prepared in advance. Freezes very well, too.

A project no longer in existence, and then tried to transfer it to this blogging page. It didn't work. So, today, I am going to try to duplicate that post. We spent a lot of time watching them. Their surefootedness.

Pam's Ponderings: Family
http://pamsponderings-hippochick.blogspot.com/2011/08/family.html
Thoughts of a more than midlife dreamer, writer, lover of life and God. Monday, August 1, 2011. I think in my last post, I had just returned from visiting some of my precious family in Pennsylvania. I was feeling poorly, and perhaps complaining just a teensy. I'm happy to report that I am finally feeling. Fit as a fiddle. The last of my ailments was my poor aching tooth. I finally ended up with a root canal which was a tremendous relief. Today I had the permanent filling and it is almost perfect. My own ...

Thoughts of a more than midlife dreamer, writer, lover of life and God. Monday, September 20, 2010. That brings me to today and the title of this post. We have had the most delightful day in the Columbia River Gorge National Scenic Area. It began at the Bonneville Fish Hatchery where we saw beautiful rainbow trout. This is Herman the Sturgeon, over nine feet long and weighing over 400 pounds. We watched a wonderfully informative video on the process of artificial spawning. Wednesday, September 15, 2010.
