Granny Stance is Making a Spectacle: gimme all your lovin'
http://www.nancystrange.com/2011/11/gimme-all-your-lovin.html
Granny Stance is Making a Spectacle. Not a collection of images but a social relation among people mediated by images.(Guy Debord). Gimme all your lovin'. This is totally a rambling-confession-style blog post. If you're here for some of my wit, come back later.). Instead of interrupting myself mid-read to re-cross the street. And we wonder why I am low on cash. Anyway, gorgeous day. I read Margaret Atwood's The Edible Woman. Even though I totally just bought 1Q84. Murakami's more than a single day's wort...
Granny Stance is Making a Spectacle: Spring in the City = Spring in my Step (part one)

Granny Stance is Making a Spectacle. Not a collection of images but a social relation among people mediated by images.(Guy Debord). Spring in the City = Spring in my Step (part one). I managed to make it to the train by 11:30, and succeeded in having a really spectacular day. I finally went to see the Cai Guo-Quiang. Show at the Guggenheim. I don't know what to say other than it was one of the best, most fascinating shows I've probably ever seen. If you're in New York, go see it. Posted by Granny Stance.
Granny Stance is Making a Spectacle: Severe Bi-Coastal Disorder
http://www.nancystrange.com/2011/11/severe-bi-coastal-disorder.html
Granny Stance is Making a Spectacle. Not a collection of images but a social relation among people mediated by images.(Guy Debord). Last night I dreamed (so did you, i bet). Even the yucky bathrooms put in a cameo appearance. I was moving with my two cats, one of which was Gracie, who got stuck on the spiral stair-slide and earned us all a disapproving look from D.Mo, and the other was a Disco/Lyle combo that was fat and fluffy and confident and didn't even really need me to help her/him settle in. Some ...

Granny Stance is Making a Spectacle. Not a collection of images but a social relation among people mediated by images.(Guy Debord). Update on The Adventure. On the other hand, I've got a Things To Do and See List about a mile long for that town, so let's hope I remember to take some pictures. Perhaps this picture of us at the Hearst Castle is going to have to tide you over for a while because we'll be having so much fun that we forget to document it. Posted by Granny Stance. Have all the fun! Last night ...

Granny Stance is Making a Spectacle. Not a collection of images but a social relation among people mediated by images.(Guy Debord). Life Moves Pretty Fast. The longer I go without updating, the harder it gets to even think about blogging. There are stories I haven't told you! So many stories, how do I pick just one? I guess I'll just jump in.here:. Or the more boring Long Nights and Bleary Eyes at 3rd Street Diner. They also have a question of the day every day and I used to grumble and wave them off, bu...

Life on Longfellow: Holes to heaven
http://lifeonlongfellow.blogspot.com/2009/10/holes-to-heaven.html
Saturday, October 31, 2009. You know how there are long lists of projects that you need to work on and you just have to squeeze bits of them in when you can? We've had these roof vents sitting in a box in the office since the summer, but just haven't had time to put them in. There are four that need to go in, but it looks like it might rain today so we only got to one. There is really nothing like chopping a hole in your roof when the sky is so overcast. Were very impressed on our side of the hemisphere.
Life on Longfellow: May 2009
http://lifeonlongfellow.blogspot.com/2009_05_01_archive.html
Monday, May 25, 2009. Happy Memorial Day weekend! We considered going down to the NSO concert at the Capitol, but dealing with a large crowd on a humid day ended up not being terribly appealing. . We went to the Crate and Barrel Outlet on Saturday, which turned out to be a great move. We had been looking for a pot rack for a while - and we found this one on an outrageous sale. 160;Take them down? Our other exciting find of the weekend came from our garden - we have radishes! Life on Longfellow: April 2009
http://lifeonlongfellow.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html
Saturday, April 4, 2009. I feel like you aren't really a grown up until your bed is no longer just a mattress on the metal frame. I guess that means we've grown up. . Our poor room has been ignored and neglected while we've focused on other rooms, but this goes a long way to making it feel more settled. Plus we finally put in the sconces we got from Adam's parents' house last year. It may not be a Mary Helen quality garden, but at least the experiment is working so far! Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).
Life on Longfellow: The only thing held hostage in Colombia...

Thursday, October 15, 2009. The only thing held hostage in Colombia. Are the photos in our camera. We can see them in the camera, but can't download them. In lieu of our own photos, at least we can show you where we stayed. Http:/ www.puntafaro.com/en/index.html. The island escape. There is something truly amazing about being totally disconnected from the world. Http:/ www.alfizhotel.com/. Sigh Perhaps a new camera is in our future. That sounds heavenly. *sigh*. Life on Longfellow: Christmas
http://lifeonlongfellow.blogspot.com/2009/12/christmas.html
Wednesday, December 23, 2009. My newest creche - from Tanzania. Our local radio station is doing a series on good deeds, and started it off today with the story of the man in Memphis who went to a local Citgo and paid for the gas of 80 strangers. Christmastime always reminds me that there is some kind soul out there who has remained anonymous for years, but continues to bring tears to my eyes nearly twenty years later. Erick and Libbey Chuy. Thats a beautiful story and memory! January 14, 2010 at 1:45 PM.
Life on Longfellow: January 2009
http://lifeonlongfellow.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, January 20, 2009. The nice thing about not being able to get downtown today was that we ended up with a four day weekend. Adam was finally feeling well enough to tackle a project, so we hung the photos that have been hanging out on our living room floor for a few weeks now. I think it was Marilyn Lucas's idea originally, and we love how it turned out. You can't really see the photos all that well, but below, from the top left are:. 2 Three photo frame of photos from Allison's wedding in September.
Life on Longfellow: December 2008
http://lifeonlongfellow.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 27, 2008. We went to New York to spend Christmas Eve with Adam's family. It was fun to see everyone and Mick and Allison were beaming about their new home (despite digging out a driveway of nearly two feet of snow! We came back to DC that night since we were having four of our Ward's missionaries and another couple over for dinner. All in all, it was a very nice Christmas. We hope everyone else had a nice one too! Saturday, December 20, 2008. Saturday, December 13, 2008. Christmas was ...

Hello Nancy
My Top Six Candles. The Yorkshire Dales and The Lake District 2015. I wrote quite a comprehensive guide last year that focussed on the more touristy “things you must do” with lots of the best attractions and walks so please read that post. Too This year we had a slightly more relaxed go with the flow trip as we had both had a pretty crappy and tiring few weeks before we left. The focus this time was to relax and enjoy each other’s company. Here’s what we got up to…. Its got quite a story! In case you wan...
