The South Dakota Snow's: Wait! What is that?????
http://sdsnows.blogspot.com/2015/07/wait-what-is-that.html
Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Driving home for work last night a saw a sight one just does not expect to see on I-90. We are just to low. Not sure he even noticed them! Three Big Horn Sheep ewes, with one lamb. Two of the ewes were collared, but I couldn't tell on the third. The crazy part is that this is just over the hill from our house. Wouldn't it be cool to have big horn sheep on our place? The South Dakota Snow's. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). West Coast, September 2015. Harbour Island, April 2012.

The South Dakota Snow's: Along the Road
http://sdsnows.blogspot.com/2015/07/along-road.html
Thursday, July 16, 2015. These are far from awesome photo's. Taking photo's of barns is a huge challenge for me and something I really struggle at to capture the texture of the building but yet keep the exposure correct. Here is my latest fail at just that, along Highway 79, south of Rapid. Two different buildings, but also two totally different angels to the sun totally changed how the colors exposed. So much to learn in this craft! The South Dakota Snow's. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Matthew an...

http://sdsnows.blogspot.com/2015/08/mom-and-her-siblings.html
Tuesday, August 11, 2015. Mom and Her Siblings. Besieged the area for the past several weeks leaving virtually no time for anything but, well, Rally. Things are pretty much back to normal in the Black Hills now though, with the estimated 1.8 million visitors on their way home at this point. Karl (younger brother), Evelyn (youngest sister), Mom (oldest) and Mildred (2nd to youngest). A spry group for sure! And one with spouses: Louis and Karl, Evelyn and Allen, Mom and her sister Mildred. San Antonio, Feb...

Wednesday, February 25, 2015. Flash Back and Proof of Adventure. I have spent much of the day searching through some old pics of when I worked in the mountains looking for a certain pic on an evening ride in hunting camp about 1994 in the Thorofare of Wyoming.to no avail. However, what I DID. North Yellowstone Park Line, August 1996. Not a bad lookin' bunch. The South Dakota Snow's. Tuesday, February 3, 2015. None of It Was Right. The South Dakota Snow's: October 2014
http://sdsnows.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2014. A Little Halloween Fun. Happy Halloween from the Snow Chateau! The South Dakota Snow's. Sunday, October 26, 2014. Not having a chance to get out and do any bird hunting yet, Bill and I headed north this past Friday. Only saw one rooster and I didn't have any kind of a chance at him as I was still in the trees when he flushed and Bill wasn't even set up yet - not that he was any where near where the bird flushed. Casey got a *L-I-T-T-L-E*. Yep, Life's pretty good! Once I returned...

The South Dakota Snow's: April 2015

Tuesday, April 21, 2015. Hiking Around the Hills. These last several weeks I've had a chance to do some more hiking. Probably not as much I would have like to have done (stupid house work has to get done sometime). But none-the-less, I did get out and about when we had some nice weather. A pano at the bottom of the old fire lookout, looking south toward Custer. This is one of my most favorite hikes in the hills. Twas a windy day up there! Terry Peak as seen from a top Bear Butte. Sturgis is in the va...

Monday, May 25, 2015. A Moment to Remember. In today's world of tromping on our flag, disrespect to military, police - any public servant really, it is even more important to take a moment and remember the Sentinels that made the ultimate sacrifice not only for our country but those that choose to disrespect her so. Historic Ft. Meade cemetery over looking the fort and Bear Butte. Enjoy today's holiday, but remember the reason behind the day. The South Dakota Snow's. Sunday, May 24, 2015. We probably sho...

The South Dakota Snow's: Carissa Mine - South Pass City, Wyoming
http://sdsnows.blogspot.com/2015/07/carissa-mine-south-pass-city-wyoming.html
Thursday, July 23, 2015. Carissa Mine - South Pass City, Wyoming. Bill and I just returned from a camping family reunion on South Pass. All the years we lived there, we never had the time to stop at this historical site. I think we need to return when we can get a tour of the mine. It looks rather interesting. An eight photo composite of the mine. Quite the undertaking for its day. The South Dakota Snow's. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). West Coast, September 2015. Sheridan Lake, September 2015.
