Say it, don't spray it!: Happiest Birthday on Earth
http://www.nannersp.com/2013/11/happiest-birthday-on-earth.html
Friday, November 15, 2013. Happiest Birthday on Earth. Earlier in the year I proposed to Em that instead of a big party to celebrate her fifth birthday, we go to Disneyland. Her initial response was a gleeful, "How about we have a party AND go to Disneyland? Then she made a definitive decision to make her second trip. To the happiest place on Earth. We decided to go all out and visit both parks - Disneyland and California Adventures, the latter of which she'd never seen. With Brent on Dumbo. We had fun e...

Say it, don't spray it!: 6/7/8/9 Months
http://www.nannersp.com/2013/11/6789-months.html
Friday, November 08, 2013. I may officially be the worst mom blogger EVER. Mimi's last monthly update was at 5 months. Which I'm sad to say was more than 4 months ago. For shame, for shame. I haven't been completely lagging, though. We did manage to keep up with most of the monthly photos. We missed her 8-month pics. DOH! But here are her slightly belated 9 month pics! This is currently her favorite face to make. Mimi continues to keep us on our toes. In the past few months, she's:. Chatting up a storm a...

Say it, don't spray it!: Manic Monday
http://www.nannersp.com/2013/11/manic-monday.html
Monday, November 11, 2013. The other day I tried to sit the girls together for a picture of them in matching Gymboree dresses, but Em refused to look at the camera because she was too busy showering Mimi with kisses. Em got her first treat from an ice cream truck the other day. And surprisingly, the Sponge Bob ice cream actually LOOKED like Sponge Bob! Mimi loves crawling under things. I regularly find her under her jumperoo, and the other day she had a blast wedging herself in between her exersaucer.

Say it, don't spray it!: Bookish
http://www.nannersp.com/2013/11/bookish.html
Wednesday, November 20, 2013. This will be our third year. Celebrating Hanukkah with Em. Because we also celebrate Christmas, which tends to be filled with lots of toys, we've designated Hanukkah as our book-filled holiday. Each night after she and Brent light the candles on the menorah, she's given a book. This year Em will receive:. The Count's Hanukkah Countdown (Shalom Sesame). I picked this up at Em's recent school book fair. Brent and I joked, "Who knew the Count was Jewish? I love these "Indestruc...

Say it, don't spray it!: Swap It Out
http://www.nannersp.com/2013/11/swap-it-out.html
Monday, November 18, 2013. A few months ago my friend invited me to a Facebook page, a virtual swap meet of sorts, where locals post items to sell. This particular page is mainly moms, and most of the items are baby items, toys and clothes. Other types items are posted, too, but the majority are kid-related. It's similar to Craigslist, but because most people use their full names, tend to sell things regularly with no reported issues, it feels more personal and less sketchy. Been there, done that. Throwb...

Say it, don't spray it!: Sleep Sincerity
http://www.nannersp.com/2013/11/sleep-sincerity.html
Sunday, November 10, 2013. The other night Em discovered the age-old tradition of kids pretending to fall asleep in the car so they can be carried inside the house upon arrival. Brent and I were in on her little ruse, but we went along with it because we both have fond memories of doing the same things as kids ourselves, and it was her first time trying to pull it off. She told Brent she was sorry for tricking us, and that she hadn't really been asleep. We've done all we can since then to convince her th...

Say it, don't spray it!: Weekend Rambles
http://www.nannersp.com/2013/11/weekend-rambles.html
Saturday, November 16, 2013. Mimi's first two teeth are about to pop through any day now, and poor girl is just miserable. I hate that she's so uncomfortable. I don't like that stores are open on Thanksgiving, and I have no plans to do any holiday shopping on that day. He replied, "I'll see what I can do for you! It was literally a 3-second conversation, but she was beaming. I wouldn't be surprised if that necklace makes an appearance Christmas morning. In broad daylight, too! Our plan is for me to rejoi...

Say it, don't spray it!: Em's Golden Birthday
http://www.nannersp.com/2013/11/ems-golden-birthday.html
Tuesday, November 12, 2013. Five" feels like a milestone birthday in and of itself, but as it turns out, Em's fifth birthday was her golden birthday as she turned five on October 5th. She awoke to a room filled with balloons for maybe the fourth year now. Then she opened a few birthday presents, including an upgraded doll stroller as she had grown too tall to push it comfortably. I snapped a few pics of the birthday girl before bedtime. When she was a wee five months old, I wondered about life. When she'...
