Brrrits that time again! Thought I would share this post again from last year. Perfect for those little boys on a cold night - perhaps this year a zombie? Nights are starting to get colder, so its time to bring out those hot water bottles to make the kids beds that much more warm and inviting. Why not make your own cute little up-cycled hottie monster - use an old wool blanket or fleece jumper, coloured felt, a few blanket stitches and presto.". Sew back and front halves together. We would all love to adorn our walls with original artworks but this can be costly, so I always try to make my own. A collection of postcards, photos or even stamps grouped in an organised manner can create an interesting piece of art and add colour and fun to your wall. I created this 'masterpiece' out of Pauls old Garbage Pail kids collection of cards I found hiding in storage. A bit of retro nostalgia - and of course the boys just love the 'grossness' of them! And here it is after 8 months of blood, sweat and tears - our beautiful kitchen. To be honest, there were no tears - a little bit of blood but mostly sweat (Paul's of course). 8 months you say, yes perhaps a long time but this was created by our own two hands. Everything from the design, to the demo, gibbing, floors, tiling, grouting (done by moi), the bench tops (fabulous) and cabinetry (amazing) by my wonderful husband. A big factor for us was light. Opening up the dividing wall between the kitchen...
