Aquatic life found in the main pond is also found in and around Head of Hummock including an osprey nesting pole usually occupied during spring summer and early fall. At the end of a public way off of Millbrook Road, there is a public boat launch and three parking spaces for Head of Hummock that kayakers and canoeists use for paddling in both ponds. Formerly part of Hummock Pond, Clark Cove also called Clark’s Cove, with no known origin for this its name, has been its own pond separate from the main pond for the last 36 years, although a small stream did connect the two water bodies up to 1995. Access to Clark Cove is through NCF’s Sanford Farm property and down Barrett Farm and Clark Cove Roads.
