This really is a heart-shaped watermelon. Abby and I found it prominently displayed at that specialty fruit shop in Tokyo Midtown. Raised in Chiba Prefecture, this melon comes with an impressive price tag. At a whopping Y31,500 (or about $350 dollars), I doubt it is going anywhere fast. Labels: fruit specialty shops. We are fairly convinced that Japan has more 'hair and make' salons than any other city in the world. People in Japan obviously love to get a tonsorial fix - who wouldn't when every shampoo comes with a head massage? Maybe it's a guy thing. Say w h a a a t? And, my personal favorite, NIX! Shortly before New Year’s, Abby and I chanced upon this choice cabbage perched regally in front of a chopstick store on the Hiroo shopping street. Just look at its girth!
