Many years ago the hospital property was owned by Dr. Bill Hammerich. Dr. Hammerich had modified his farm and chicken coups to create Valley Vet Hospital. Here he raised a family and practiced as a Large and Small Animal Veterinarian for several years until moving to Oregon in 1977. In 1997, Dr. Claudia Sonder and Dr. Jeff Northrup began working for Jim and Patty Latham. Are veterinarians are primarily ambulatory, but clients always have the option to haul their horses into our clinic for appointments. Both of our vet trucks are fully stocked and we have mobile equipment to allow us to see and treat our patients in the field. At the clinic we have several stalls, a set of stock and a couple areas for minor surgical procedures. 24 Hour Emergency Care. New Foal Wellness Exams. We are not equipped for 24-hour supervision.

Megan Van Coutren Office Manage. Robin Martin Large Animal Assistant. Kim Hetrick Large Animal Assistant. Kim had her first pony ride at six months and has been hooked on horses ever since. She has been working as a Large Animal Technician since 2005. Kim has two Bachelors Degrees from the University of British Columbia; one in Natural Resource Science and one in Forestry. Kim has six horses and although she enjoys all equine disciplines she actively competes in barrel racing.
