Naptime Craftime

Tuesday, March 8, 2011. They know us well. I go in spurts of decorating our house. A little at a time right? And that is exactly what happened! My Aunt remodeled her kitchen, which lead to my Mom remodeling hers, which has led to me surging ahead with new energy to decorate my house. (Needless to say, there will be plenty of material for new blog posts! My vintage store finds:. Coffee table that i am using as a bench. Dark yellow wood frames with nature prints. Blue tin tray to catch my threads and scraps.

Naptime Craftime: August 2010

http://naptimecraftime.blogspot.com/2010_08_01_archive.html

Monday, August 30, 2010. Between watching Project Runway and reading all these different blogs, I've been thinking about sewing my own clothes, or recycling old clothes into something new. So I've decided to give it a shot with this tunic style shirt. While I've sewn a few dresses for Ella, I have not made anything from a pattern for myself. Maybe I can finish it for the weekend. Especially the hat at the bottom of the page - it's made from an old t-shirt! Posted by Lennice and Katie. I started with this.

Naptime Craftime: birthday presents

http://naptimecraftime.blogspot.com/2011/02/birthday-presents.html

Tuesday, February 15, 2011. Last week I made some heating pads and gave them away as birthday presents to two of my sisters. They have a removable bag of rice inside, which can be heated in the microwave. (Brent and Ella took turns trying them out - sorry Mary, yours was heating Ella's toes! I thought they could also double as a cold compress.just stick in a bag of peas! Posted by Lennice and Katie. February 18, 2011 at 9:13 AM. I know of a lot of people that want these! Put them on etsy! A quilt is nice.

Naptime Craftime: cargo pants to tote

http://naptimecraftime.blogspot.com/2011/02/cargo-pants-to-tote.html

Friday, February 25, 2011. Cargo pants to tote. I've been eyeing all the military/utility canvas jackets popping up in stores, but can't bring myself to buy another coat. So instead, I was inspired to make a tote out of old cargos from one of my brothers. It has cool sideways pockets. And polka dot lining (which is not so military, but fun anyway)! I might have to say goodbye to the diaper bag! Posted by Lennice and Katie. February 25, 2011 at 6:45 PM. February 28, 2011 at 2:00 PM. Those are my pants!

Naptime Craftime: November 2010

http://naptimecraftime.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

Monday, November 29, 2010. Last month, I participated in a coaster swap with the Cincinnati Modern Quilt Guild. The pattern I used can be found in Joelle Hoverson's book Last Minute Patchwork and Quilted Gifts. If you haven't seen her books yet, check them out. She has two wonderful knitting books and the sewing one is just as great.). Anyway, here are some coasters similar to the ones I brought. I made two sets, thinking I'd save the other for a Christmas gift.they just need to be finished! A chunky bal...

My life on the run. Balancing family, mental and physical exercise, and all the emotional baggage accumulated throughout several decades of living. View my complete profile. Saturday, January 9, 2016. I wanted to cry last night. Given the circumstances I thought maybe I would, or should. But I couldn't. I don't know. I was tired but a little amped up, as I usually am the night before my long run. And I started thinking, remembering, and still no tears came. But I couldn't cry. Links to this post. I reali...

Naptime Confessions

Kev likes to help at the grocery store by putting food on the belt at checkout. Once, while putting a box of crackers on, he said to the cashier, “Here you go, Worker.” Sounded like such a snob. He sorta made up for it by then turning to the bagger and asking, “How are you doing today? It’s ‘Secrets’! 8216;Secrets’ is on! 8216;Secrets’ is on right now, Mommy! 8221; And with each song he asks the same questions every single time. “Why does he say he has no family he can blame? Which he pronounces ash-she-...

I had saved a tutorial for this on my trusty Pinterest account and like all other things I have saved I knew I loved it but never thought I'd have time to try it. Until I was asked to make something fun for 2 little girls and after some brainstorming this was the obvious and cutest choice! These pillowcases are SO SOFT. I just hope these sisters love them as much as I do :). The twins ...

Friday, November 16, 2012. We made these at Super Saturday last month. I love this photo of President Monson. It gives him a really comforting Grandpa look. Here is the link to the original idea. But we couldn't find the wide rectangle frame that she used, so we used the square ones from Wal-Mart or Michael's and just trimmed the picture of President Monson. These were a popular one with the ladies that attended the crafting day. Thursday, November 15, 2012. The bow is just a sewn rectangle of satin stuf...
