Nathan’s voice on this crazy thing we call "The Internet". A 20 something Kiwi trying to navigate life. Thoughts and musings on theology, humanity, pop culture, politics, life, faith, hope and love. Tuesday, 30 June 2015. Yes, Love does win. I did not want to write about this. Many, on both sides have called this a cultural war. The thing is, I don’t like wars. Even when there is a victory, they always lead to casualties. On Both sides. Maybe I’m a naive idealist, like Peeta in The Hunger Games,. Calling...

Nathan’s voice on this crazy thing we call "The Internet". A 20 something Kiwi trying to navigate life. Thoughts and musings on theology, humanity, pop culture, politics, life, faith, hope and love. Wednesday, 25 August 2010. Things I am, or have been pondering lately. What is post modernity? Or modernity for that matter? Does Luke 16:1-12 mean? And Luke 20: 27-39? Why does it stop raining when you buy an umbrella? How contextualised our understanding of the gospel is. Doesn’t God deserve better? How har...

Critical Care at UCLH. I stood in the Critical Care Unit (CCU) at University College London Hospital (UCLH) today, for Governor purposes by the grace of God, talking efficiency-savings and cuts with one of the brilliant staff there. A year and a half later. It’s a full year and a half since I last blogged here. Life has been eaten up, in a good way, by work, being a hospital governor at UCLH, and generally living. I’m going to keep the blog going because there’s some valuable and amusing insights here (and because people continue to view it on a very regular basis) but blogging will happen as and when it strikes me. I’ll apologise now if it’s another year and half before you see anything here again. Really looking forward to this!

Laquo; Sandi Thom – Punkrocker #musicmonday. Becoming a Hospital Governor. On February 2, 2011. It’s a funny old life I lead. Are you settled? Then I’ll begin…. In September 2009, on receiving my umpteenth appointment letter which included the appropriate form, I signed up as a member of “the Trust” with very little idea of what that meant. I fairly quickly received a newsletter. Which told me all sorts of wonderful things about the hospital and the wide variety of activities going on there. Identifying ...

UCLH News – Governor’s Involvement Article. I recently wrote an article for UCLH News about some of the things Governors have been up to for the last year, it’s short so there’s not so much detail but (given the number of people who find this blog by searching for UCLH Governors) I thought some might find it helpful/interesting. Read the rest of this entry ». My pleasure - it's a long road but we'll get there. Love your @ alt MBA. Tweets and posts, sounds like an amazing programme. 22 minutes ago.

Laquo; Critical Care at UCLH. An open letter to Ocado. On October 7, 2011. Also sent to ocado@ocado.com. I’ve been a long-time and loyal customer of Ocado but I’m starting to wonder if it might be time to move to Waitrose Delivery. In the last 6 months we’ve had a few too many broken/squashed goods and far too many late deliveries without notice. The cake, however, has been taken with our delivery this week (not literally). I’m really disappointed because you were so excellent. This isn’t...PS Incredibly...
