Writing, sort of. Book and Short Story Reviews. Comics and Graphic Novels. Incantation For The New Year. Date: December 31, 2016. Hail, all we that live, to the New Year,. With well wishes and forgotten memories of the past. Hell to that which has passed in the past year,. May it all be erased like great waves when they crash. Hail to the day that is given,. Forsake all others in the future and the past. Prayers for each and every single second,. May the good ones linger and the bad ones not last.

Tokyo Ghoul – Narratively Raw
https://narrativelyraw.com/2016/12/16/tokyo-ghoul
Writing, sort of. Book and Short Story Reviews. Comics and Graphic Novels. Date: December 16, 2016. The story, which was of course originally a Manga that I have yet to read, was created by Ushida Sui. Two anime have been done based on the original manga. This is the way I have experienced the story so far. I intend to go back and read the manga. When two creatures have the right to live, whose right is placed above the others. And who should have to sacrifice their happiness in order for others to live?

I have been floundering on the rewrite since about December, and a lot of the reasons listed above are big reasons. Continue reading Revisiting Your World. June 4, 2014. May 5, 2014.

Your Accomplice in Writing Creative Fiction. January 20, 2016. It’s not easy to find that sweet spot that provides exactly the right amount of information. The line between spoon-feeding information and being clear is a troublesome one, especially when you want to maintain some air of mystery about what you’re writing. Nobody wants their story to be predictable, though it should without equivocation be justifiable. Continue reading The Balancing Act. January 18, 2016. January 19, 2016. December 17, 2015.

I’ve been dabbling a little with a thing called Twine. Over the past few days, which is a cool way to make a game that’s a little more accessible than putting together a graphical game would be. I’m only starting with it, but already finding ways to do things that take me back to the game programming of my younger years. Posted in Dev Diary. June 18, 2015.

Yes, blog (shush), but also follow up a previous must. In Use Your Characters. I extolled the virtues of being lazy, and by being lazy I mean using the characters you’ve already built up in ways that makes sense for them characters, instead of trying to force a new path through your story. That’s still true, but there’s more. For More Than Earthly Ends. Contin...

Your Accomplice in Writing Creative Fiction. Writing Musts: Follow Everyone Else’s Standards. March 9, 2015. January 19, 2016. One of the things people will tell you is that as a writer, you have to meet their expectations. This might seem like a challenging thing to have to do, considering that the world is full of billions of people, but it’s much easier than making up your own mind or having your own principles. A simple question is all you have to ask – will this upset somebody? October 9, 2014.

Sunday, 16 November 2014. Where my narrative journey began. From an early age I have been into music, first listening then playing guitar to singing. Whether listening to or playing music in what ever form it can be very therapeutic. The spoken voice can also be therapeutic. Now without going through the whole story, I will leave that for another time, I would like to share with you where my voice over/narration journey began. Anyway here is that video I have been rabbiting on about. Enjoy!

Narrative Madness by Ronald B. Richardson
Narrative Madness a book by Ronald B. Richardson. Our stories have driven us mad. All of us. You and I and Don Quixote all suffer from Narrative Madness. Like the Knight of the Woeful Countenance, we humans wander lost through clouds of story, never experiencing the unfiltered world. A rather quixotic task, you say? I heartily agree. Follow me, then, into battle. Buy the book on Amazon. Thoroughly innovative [.] insightful, provocative, and, in the best sense of the word, scholarly. Get it for the Kindle.
