Narrowboat Mr David: Red Bull Basin, Trent and Mersey (Macclesfield Branch)

http://narrowboatmrdavid.blogspot.com/2015/04/red-bull-basin-trent-and-mersey.html

Life aboard a Narrowboat - and making greetings cards. Want to Buy a Card? Waterways Cards For Sale. Sunday, 19 April 2015. Red Bull Basin, Trent and Mersey (Macclesfield Branch). Love the motto: Keeping people, nature and history connected. Nothing about water, boats, canals! The washing machine has been going all day! The sentiment, which I did on the computer was matted onto pink card and the whole panel stuck onto a pink card blank. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). BUY MY CARDS HERE.

Narrowboat Mr David: September 2014

http://narrowboatmrdavid.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Life aboard a Narrowboat - and making greetings cards. Want to Buy a Card? Waterways Cards For Sale. Tuesday, 9 September 2014. Gas Street Basin, BCN. A full moon at 0530 when we set off. We arrived at the Aston bottom lock at 0745 and were finished at the top lock by 0930. Then, on the the bottom of Farmer's lock at 0945 and found the pound full this time. We got to the top at 1115 and were safely on the moorings by 1130 with the electic on and the washing machine going. Monday, 8 September 2014. We got...

Narrowboat Mr David: Red Bull Basin, Macclesfield Canal

http://narrowboatmrdavid.blogspot.com/2015/04/red-bull-basin-macclesfield-canal.html

Life aboard a Narrowboat - and making greetings cards. Want to Buy a Card? Waterways Cards For Sale. Monday, 20 April 2015. Red Bull Basin, Macclesfield Canal. The washing machine is still going. Sheets, towels, coats, anything I can find. A kind, fellow moorer lent us a key to get out of the compound so that I could walk around to Tesco to get some food. Last winter a friend who walked her dog past the boats lost it when it fell into the canal and drowned. So this is the sympathy card I made for her.

Narrowboat Mr David: Rode Heath, Trent and Mersey Canal

http://narrowboatmrdavid.blogspot.com/2015/04/rode-heath-trent-and-mersey-canal.html

Life aboard a Narrowboat - and making greetings cards. Want to Buy a Card? Waterways Cards For Sale. Wednesday, 22 April 2015. Rode Heath, Trent and Mersey Canal. Sunrise by Church Lawton. A quick run into Rode Heath, just 1 1/4 miles and 6 locks. I took the bus into Nantwich for a bit of retail therapy. It was fun criss crossing the canal on the way there and back. A white card blank, red dotty paper, strawberry backing paper, a tag made with die-cut ovals, some flowers and a red gingham bow.

Narrowboat Mr David: Church Lawton, Trent and Mersey Canal

Life aboard a Narrowboat - and making greetings cards. Want to Buy a Card? Waterways Cards For Sale. Tuesday, 21 April 2015. Church Lawton, Trent and Mersey Canal. Now, that's what you call a shed! We slipped out of the Red Bull moorings in the mist, did three locks down to the Services station for a pumpout and more water. Then it was down another three locks and found a lovely spot not far from the Church. We got here about 0830 and I went back to bed and slept for three hours! BUY MY CARDS HERE.

Tormentil narrowboat: April 2009

http://narrowboat-tormentil.blogspot.com/2009_04_01_archive.html

This is the story of narrowboat Tormentil, how we came to buy her and the adventures we hope to have. Sunday, 5 April 2009. We have a week to get from Sowerby to Burnley, Lancashire (on the Leeds and Liverpool) via the Calder and Hebble, and the Aire and Calder, and have been assured it is possible. As I have said before this canal pace of life is a little difficult to get my head around. Sowerby to Burnley is 40 minutes by car! Labels: Leeds and Liverpool canal. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Tormentil narrowboat: June 2009

http://narrowboat-tormentil.blogspot.com/2009_06_01_archive.html

This is the story of narrowboat Tormentil, how we came to buy her and the adventures we hope to have. Friday, 5 June 2009. The weather was hot and got hotter during the week up to 32C. This was good aclimatisation for my return last weekend when we had such great weather in England. I had half a day to sightsee and managed to get to the Jardin Majorelle which was a lovely quiet rest from the heat. These gardens mix architecture, colour and plants and I got some good pictures. Berbers riding and shooting.

Tormentil narrowboat: The Great Adventure day 7, Wednesday April 15th, To Skipton and beyond

http://narrowboat-tormentil.blogspot.com/2009/05/great-adventure-day-7-wednesday-april.html

This is the story of narrowboat Tormentil, how we came to buy her and the adventures we hope to have. Monday, 18 May 2009. The Great Adventure day 7, Wednesday April 15th, To Skipton and beyond. On the way to Skipton, they were probably responsible for all this as we hired a boat from them all those years ago and still remember enjoying the trip (apart from the swing bridges which I remember me doing last time and they were still just as much a pain). Moored up, I thought that was great. There is a steep...

Tormentil narrowboat: March 2009

http://narrowboat-tormentil.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html

This is the story of narrowboat Tormentil, how we came to buy her and the adventures we hope to have. Monday, 30 March 2009. I love following the tales of all the animals on board various boats, especially Caxton. They really are supposed to be this big. You can just see Jon hidden behind them. Cinammon the boy is unfortunately recently deceased but his sister Tamarin (Tammy for short) is still with us and seems to be enjoying the extra attention she is getting. Cinnamon looking smart for once. I can&#82...

Bernie The Bollard: BERNIE THE BOLLARD PART 3

http://berniethebollard.blogspot.com/2008/07/bernie-bollard-part-3.html

The life, wisdom and heartache of a canal bollard. Wednesday, 23 July 2008. BERNIE THE BOLLARD PART 3. LOVE IN A CHOCOLATE WORLD. A bit more than that I bet you. Slowing down for moored boats? Not in your dreams. All those paranoid moorers who shout at boats going past should have been there in the old days. Not that I think that boats should not slow down, they should or they will all end up like that David character pulling out bollards like me. It’s a thought though isn’t it? The life, wisdom and heartache of a canal bollard. Tuesday, 22 July 2008. BERNIE THE BOLLARD PART 6. Not something you should attempt; there’s always screaming and wailing if it all goes wrong and your foot is in danger. So I sent a letter and did not realise it arrived on Valentine’s Day, how was I to know he thought it was a valentine. And him, for all his so called humour could not see the funny side of that one. The life, wisdom and heartache of a canal bollard. Wednesday, 23 July 2008. BERNIE THE BOLLARD PART 1. THE LIFE OF A BOLLARD. I was born in a metal foundry produced from pig iron. There are those who say we had a previous existence as other objects. Some claim they used to be paperclips, others claim to have been part of bridges. I don’t believe a word of it – bollards we are and bollards we have always been. Pig iron not a nice name is it? Someone is picking me up. Nice soft warm hands, it’s a...Boaters...

The NarrowBoat Man: Moving Quality Narrowboats, Naturally

Narrowboats Moved by Water. Moving your boat by water takes slightly longer than road transport, but it can be much more cost effective. On average about a third of the cost compared with lifting your boat out of the water and transporting it by road. Giving the engine a run and charging the batteries is also good for the boat, especially if your boat has not been used for a while. The Narrowboat Man can help:. Deliver your new boat. Narrowboat Morgana Le Fey

Narrowboat Morgana Le Fey. The travels of Ray and Lez, enjoying retirement aboard NB Morgana le Fey. Tuesday, 15 September 2015. After 2 months silence! Well, it is actually two months and one week but who is counting? We have been fairly busy, had a few emergencies, met up with some good friends and generally had a good time. Since my last post we have travelled 121.4 miles, 181 locks and 12 tunnels. This year we have travelled 437.4 miles, 479 locks, 3 swing bridges and 23 tunnels. In 2012 we travelled.

Narrowboat Mover - Home

When would you need a Narrowboat Mover? Many boat owners have limited time on the water and want to use it seeing different parts of the Canal and River systems. The Narrow Boat Mover provides the service of moving the boat from your mooring to your intended cruising area and if necessary take it back for you once you have completed your holiday. Narrow Boat Mover's evident experience and understanding of life on the canals filled me with confidence. He went well above and beyond the call of duty in ...

Narrowboat Mum – Fun, Frugal and Floating somewhere in the country!

Fun, Frugal and Floating somewhere in the country! I thought I’d ask Kevin to see what he said and he said just buy readymade. Being frugal but someone who enjoys baking and have dozens of jars stashed away it just racked my brains if it was worth it. In the end I bought all the ingredients and made them yesterday. They are all stored under the kitchen cupboard behind the plinth. If we get bored of it I’m just grabbing a jar next year and getting a life…. November 2, 2016. Halloween for 10.00. We were up...
