Our gap year travelling the inland waterways. Wednesday, 31 October 2012. Yesterday we began our journey down the Severn to Gloucester. The sun was shining, the water was flowing fairly fast, the levels just touching orange, but well clear of red. So we made good time and with locks being opened ready for us it didn't take long to get down to Worcester. Coming out of one of the locks we spied an old boat coming towards us, looks like 'Colllingwood', we both thought,. 125 miles, 8 locks. 275 miles, 3 locks.

We have had another lovely autumn day, not so cold today even though we barely saw the sun, but this was the view from our windows just before we set off towards Hatton. We enjoyed another visit to Leamington, walking up through the Regency main street known as the Parade and looking around the unique smaller shops in the side streets and visiting the exhibition at the Pump Rooms - ‘This Green and Pleasant Land’.
