His comments last week seemed a bit out of the ordinary, but getting into David Gilliland so hard after Talladega was a bit weak. Frustration seems to be getting to Smoke big time. Harden up brother. It was with a tinge of sadness that I read on drivebytruckers. Has left the band. And that sadness is purely selfish. I loved what he brought to Drive By Truckers in his voice, lyrics and musicianship. Having said that I'm also really pleased for both him and DBT. A devastating loss is when Cliff Burton or Randy Rhoads. Or Ronnie Van Zant. What about his wife?
