Sunday, August 11, 2013. Europe 2011: Vienna, Austria. It wasn't long before we were flying out of Rome and towards our next destination known as both the "City of Music" and the "City of Dreams." When we arrived in Vienna, we decided to take the U-Bahn to our hotel. As we walked out of the metro at our stop, we were greeted by weather very. From that of Italy's. There was a light sprinkling of rain and it was a bit nippy. It felt wonderful! A view of our hotel from Stadtpark across the street. We arrive...

Tuesday, August 9, 2011. Europe 2011: First Day in Venice. As soon as we arrived at the hotel in Venice, we were given two choices: we could go rest until dinner in our gorgeous rooms -or- we could change clothes and explore Venice. Even though we were tired from our long journey, we decided the best thing to do would be to put on some fresh attire and go enjoy the beautiful day! We all met in the courtyard outside our hotel and strolled off with our trusty leader, Stefania. From the Rialto Bridge. After...

Friday, April 27, 2012. Europe 2011: Dinner in Florence. After leaving the crowded city of Pisa, it was refreshing to load up on our private, air-conditioned bus for the trip back to Florence. Mom had done extensive research about restaurants that offered a view of the city along with fabulous food and service. She decided on La Reggia. She couldn't have picked a more perfect place! You have to hike up a steep hill to make it. To the restaurant.and amazing views! That was an understatement! Mom and Dad s...

The Lummus Family: March 2011
http://lummusfamily.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 28, 2011. For this year's Spring Break vacation, we decided to head to Big Sky, Montana. It's always been one of my and Bill's favorite ski locations, so we decided to take the kids and see what they thought of it. Thankfully, they loved it as much as us! Over and over again, we caught ourselves saying how awesome it was- the snow, the slopes, the resort, the lodging- there was absolutely nothing to disappoint. We can't wait to go back again. The sun rise and the snow fall! Of course, the w...

Friday, March 30, 2012. Europe 2011: Florence (Day One). The stairs leading up to the Basilica di San Miniato al Monte. After pulling out of Ferrara, our gladiator (a.k.a. bus driver) pointed us south and headed through the Italian Alps. After a beautiful ride through what must be one of the most scenic parts of Italy, we made our way into Florence. Our very first point of action was to drive up to one of the most breathtaking and picturesque views of the city- the. Basilica di San Miniato al Monte.

Tuesday, November 30, 2010. It's Elf Time Again! It's that time of year again that is magical around our house. The elves are back and full of good times and mischief. The kids are wonderful with them. They take Sam Elfie and Caroline with us everywhere so that the elves don't miss out on anything. So sweet! We are so thrilled to share the holidays with them and we're looking forward to what is in store for us all. Below is a picture of them with us at church. Yes, they are dressed for the occasion!

Thursday, December 30, 2010. God bless us, every one! This December, our family made sure to do some major celebrating of the Christmas season! One afternoon, Bill and I took the kids to the Opryland Hotel to look at all the beautiful lights and decorations. We decided to really soak in the sights and stay for dinner. It was so much fun and really helped to put us all in the Christmas spirit. Luckily, this was just the beginning of holiday reveling! More posts to follow. Thursday, December 9, 2010. Below...

Our time had finally come to leave the dream we had been living in and say "arrivederci" to this wonderful trip, beautiful country and cherished family members. A park in Rome where David and family visited. Tiber River in Rome. Kelsey and Ian pulling away from the hotel in their car. Leonardo da Vinci Airport in Rome. Ian and Stephen disembarking the car. Thank you, thank you! One of Stephen's crew took this. Picture as they flew out. I know th...

Wednesday, May 30, 2012. Leaving Pompeii and driving down the Amalfi coastline towards Sorrento was a glorious sight. Everywhere you looked you’d see huge cliffs with vibrantly painted houses and hotels overlooking the Mediterranean Sea. As we entered the city, the quaint streets were filled with shops, restaurants and the occasional lemon orchard. In the center of the city, we came upon our swank hotel, the Michelangelo. One of Sorrento's infamous lemon orchards with. As soon as I felt how cold the wate...
