A Walternative Universe: August 2009
http://whereintheworldiswalter.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
Sunday, August 30, 2009. My Depression is Lifting. Here's the typical touristy shot from Athens. I'd be willing to bet that the original construction didn't take as long as the restoration. When I was last in Athens in 1988, there was scaffolding all over the Parthenon. Here's the same scene from a different angle. Today we hiked up Lycabetus Hill, the highest point in Athens. This is the view from there. This is the view of Lycabetus Hill from the Acropolis. Tomorrow, I've got a car lined up for rental,...

Tuesday, September 29, 2009. There was a good segment on. Today, if you talk to any Canadians about health care, they might bitch and moan a little, but I've never talked to anyone who wants to end Medicare. It's a big part of the national identity, and most Canadians are very proud of it, especially when they engage in conversations bashing their ignorant neighbors to the south. Fame T.C. Douglas is his grandfather on his father's side! Drumbeats of war again? Glenn Greenwald is one of my favorite comme...

A Walternative Universe: December 2009
http://whereintheworldiswalter.blogspot.com/2009_12_01_archive.html
Tuesday, December 29, 2009. I'm back after spending the Christmas holiday with family in Canada. I'll post more about the food and festivities once I get around to taking a look at the pictures I took, but in the meantime I'll share a few thoughts about airport security in light of the failed attempt to take down the flight from Amsterdam to Detroit by the Nigerian crotch-bomber. So what should we do? That would help about as much as our ongoing war in Afghanistan. Tuesday, December 22, 2009. As far as I...

Wednesday, April 14, 2010. Carbon Monoxide Alarms. when required. During the December 2006 storm in Western Washington over 1000 people were treated at emergency rooms and 8 people died because of Carbon Monoxide Poisoning. But, if your neighbor does that you could be poisoned by the gas seeping through walls. In April 2010, there was a proposed change in the law as passed&#...

My heart was beating so hard! I was such a fool! Why did it put it off? You guessed it. The day it was due. the deadline date! Sunday, September 20, 2009. But the seller EXPECTS me to put ads in the paper! Real estate agents are still doing that today! Instead of using all the free sites available on the web, agents are crafting ads for printed medium. The sellers may have come to "expect" this as marketing for their property, but it is up to the real estate agent to educate sellers about how the market has changed. Be a bit creative so people pass info on your listing to others! Mos importantly. FIND you own listings on as ...

Monday, July 25, 2011. Connect with People as One of Your Priorities. Your business ultimately comes from people that know you. Though we are always juggling all our priorities, the most important aspect of our business is our clients and prospects. We have to find time to connect with them and build relationships. The challenge is how to connect with your sphere? If you get a notice for a committee meeting, you might first think, "Can you just email me the information? If you are busy with the kids and ...
