Elsie's Notes from New England: Guilt and the Irony of Faculty/Staff Parking
http://elsiesnotesfromnewengland.blogspot.com/2014/02/guilt-and-irony-of-facultystaff-parking.html
Elsie's Notes from New England. Wednesday, February 26, 2014. Guilt and the Irony of Faculty/Staff Parking. I stole someone's parking spot today. I mean, not technically; the spots are first-come, first-served, but I know that I did and I'm not sure how I feel about it. If' I'm coming to campus later in the day - after 10:30 am - who knows where I can park? And even as the thought occurred to me, I felt guilty. Was it wrong of me to take someone else's spot, even if the spots aren't assigned? FEEDJIT Liv...

Elsie's Notes from New England: December 2013
http://elsiesnotesfromnewengland.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
Elsie's Notes from New England. Friday, December 13, 2013. The Biscuit Story - Part Deux, or Christmas Cookies. It's taken about thirty years for me to get to tell the end of this story. Hopefully you've read the beginning. This is Scarlett. She is two. She brought her parents to visit us for Thanksgiving this year. Helping Grandpa decorate the tree. I am ashamed to admit how proud I was of myself - not a single "No! Would you like to scoop some flour? I asked her. She would, indeed! Links to this post.

Elsie's Notes from New England: What a difference a day makes...
http://elsiesnotesfromnewengland.blogspot.com/2014/09/what-difference-day-makes.html
Elsie's Notes from New England. Monday, September 22, 2014. What a difference a day makes. This is an old post I never got around to actually posting. It's from late March/early April. Nothing earth shattering; just my life. Cause that's where I was sure I was headed. This morning, I woke up and lay there, evaluating my health. No aches. No nausea. No fever. Really? I couldn't believe it. I got up and gingerly puttered around for a bit to see if the dizziness returned. Nope. I was fine. Craig and daniell...

Elsie's Notes from New England: A little heart to heart
http://elsiesnotesfromnewengland.blogspot.com/2014/09/a-little-heart-to-heart.html
Elsie's Notes from New England. Thursday, September 25, 2014. A little heart to heart. Speaking of being sick, I had a little epiphany tonight that I thought I'd share. Two weeks ago, I got really sick, out of nowhere. So sick, they had to give me a shot of rocephin in my tush. That's like injecting peanutbutter into your flank - so painful! The thing is, the day will come! And one day I woke up and realized that that part of me was gone. It didn't hurt. It didn't control me. It just didn't e...The chang...

Elsie's Notes from New England: September 2014
http://elsiesnotesfromnewengland.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Elsie's Notes from New England. Monday, September 29, 2014. The Songs My Mama Sang to Me, and Then a Few I Sang to My Own Kids. I Don't Want to Play in Your Yard. Written by Philip Wingate (1894). Music by: H.W. Petrie. Recording by Peggy Lee (1957). Is of the chorus only, and much slower than Mom sang it. Once there lived side by side. Used to dress just alike,. Hair down in braids,. Blue gingham pinafores,. Stockings of red,. Tied on each pretty head. When school was over,. Secrets they'd tell,. Soon s...

Elsie's Notes from New England: Of Stylists and Chocolate and Love at Home
http://elsiesnotesfromnewengland.blogspot.com/2014/05/of-stylists-and-chocolate-and-love-at.html
Elsie's Notes from New England. Sunday, May 11, 2014. Of Stylists and Chocolate and Love at Home. When I was a little girl, my mom used to get her hair done every Friday. She would get it washed and dried and styled and teased and sprayed and set. Those were our candies! Don't get me wrong - my Skype visits with the colorful little girls who call me Grandma (and their wonderful parents) have filled my day and my heart with joy and laughter and silly noises. Bliss. Elsie's Notes from New England: November 2013
http://elsiesnotesfromnewengland.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Elsie's Notes from New England. Friday, November 1, 2013. First frost awakes a nesting urge. To cast aside the summer’s leisure,. Lay in storage all life’s pleasure. Readying for winter’s dirge. With mindset fixed so foolish, firm. I miss the fiery hands that tease. My mind, so resolute, to ease. And memory store, against the term. When winter’s chill tempts to forget. That there exists but ice and gray. Oh, to recall that crisp bouquet! Instead, awaiting spring’s coquette. Links to this post.

Elsie's Notes from New England: July 2013
http://elsiesnotesfromnewengland.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Elsie's Notes from New England. Monday, July 1, 2013. I hate to sweat. I'm also terrified of tornadoes. My sister and I sweat a lot that summer. My socks and shorts were soaked. She tended to sweat on her face, with great drops forming on her forehead and running down to drip off her nose. I thought she looked more impressive when she sweat - with that damp forehead, she epitomized a hard worker. I just had soggy britches; less than impressive. Hmmm This isn't about perspiration anymore, is it?

Elsie's Notes from New England: October 2014
http://elsiesnotesfromnewengland.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Elsie's Notes from New England. Saturday, October 11, 2014. Temperatures fall in their cycle. Which turns up the fire. Trees, like Redenbacher’s kernels. Are starting to sizzle in the frost-burn of night. Where the real work is done. Best displayed by collapsing rays. Competing for chroma,. They begin to burst;. One here, another there, random surprises. Then an empty pause. Two here, three there. Resplendent, exhilaratingly bright. Worth the price of impending gray. Til suddenly, the flaring blasts.

"Though she be but little, she is fierce!"
Though she be but little, she is fierce! Sometimes I want to be a poet but on the other hand, I wish I was your poem instead. You’re a melody. Playing in my favorite song. Sweet and full of love. Natalie Meza, I hope you find someone. The hurt wasn’t intentional. The blood wasn’t intentional. The scars were collateral damage. Anonymous: My favorite part of the day is when I get to go through your page and read your heart wrenching words. They help me feel less alone. You melt MY heart! Only if you go love.

Natalie's Blog | Just another WordPress.com site
Just another WordPress.com site. Reflection on English 2010. December 9, 2010. There is definitely a jump between year 10 English and year 11 English, the standards are higher! November 25, 2010. Consider Hitler’s lament regarding Belonging: the concept was far more complex than I anticipated. Why didn’t I develop more insight into the topic? HOW are ideas represented in each text? What do you understand by the concept of belonging? Why do you think it’s been chosen for the HSC? November 17, 2010. After ...
