http://natashawitte.blogspot.com/2011/01/we-spotted-ocean-at-head-of-trail.html

From Guatemala.with love. Tuesday, January 11, 2011. We spotted the ocean at the head of the trail. I was fortunate enough to have Shannon visit me over two weekends, from Chicago (yay for visitors and yay for travel! We spent the first weekend at Lake Atitlan and decided to brave heading to the beaches of El Salvador, to visit one of the sleepy, little surf towns the second weekend. It was quite an adventure. Parts of the drive were very beautiful. And, eventually, we made it to El Salvador.

From Guatemala...with love.: November 2010

http://natashawitte.blogspot.com/2010_11_01_archive.html

From Guatemala.with love. Saturday, November 13, 2010. Let's go fly a kite. In Guatemala, All Saints Day is celebrated on November 1 (also known was Day of the Dead). We went up to the town of Santiago Sacatepequez to see the flying of the kites. In Santiago, the setting was a cemetery and people fly the kites in hopes that they can communicate with their loved, departed ones. All Saint's Day is an official holiday in Guatemala, and we had the day off from school! Getting ready for the race. Okay, I'll a...

From Guatemala.with love. Monday, August 9, 2010. I turn my camera on. Saturday morning the newbies were taken to Antigua for a scavenger hunt. Antigua is the former capital of Guatemala and a beautiful, colonial town about an hour from Guatemala City. Antigua is a big tourist spot and has a great language school. We split into groups, were assigned pictures to take and had a great time traveling through the city. My scavenger hunt group. Mags and I found some random goats! Friday, August 6, 2010. A long...

The Wissinks: "He just looks PERFECT!"

http://arwissink.blogspot.com/2010/06/he-just-looks-perfect.html

Our Life in The Mitten. Tuesday, June 22, 2010. He just looks PERFECT! The doctor said this to us multiple times at our appointment today, and of course, we wholeheartedly agree! We survived the 4 month check-up and shots! Jeremiah actually did awesome- he recovered from the 3 shots very quickly. He was not too keen on the oral rotavirus vaccine this time (he made some pretty funny faces! But he did finally chug it all down. Mommy also handled the shots better this time- no crying! Plus, Adam got his fir...

The Wissinks: January 2015

http://arwissink.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html

Our Life in The Mitten. Thursday, January 8, 2015. Hope has been 2 months for like 3 weeks now, so I figured I better get a post done before she gets to be 3 months old. The time is going by too fast! I know I've said that before, and will no doubt say it again. But time needs to slow down! Hope is most definitely losing her newborn-ness, which is sad. However, her ever growing chubby cheeks and other chunky rolls do somewhat make up for that. Oh, and her coos and jabbering, too. So sweet! The doctor was...

The Wissinks: December 2014

http://arwissink.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Our Life in The Mitten. Saturday, December 27, 2014. It's so hard to believe that Christmas is over and tomorrow begins a New Year! When I think back on 2014, I think it was probably the busiest, craziest, most exciting, most stressful, longest, AND shortest year of our lives (if that even makes sense! What an incredible year full of blessings! We are truly thankful! But Before this turns into a "reflection on 2014" post, let's revisit Christmas! We did our own family Christmas the Saturday before, and o...

How has she been here with us for 4 months already? Time is moving too fast (I'm going to say that every single time I do an update. Seriously. Sorry.). H at 4 months old! J at 4 months! They are definitely siblings! Aren't Adam's kids adorable? We got a great report from the doctor today at Hope's 4 month well-check! The doctor was quite impressed that Ho...

The Wissinks: September 2014

http://arwissink.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html

Our Life in The Mitten. Wednesday, September 10, 2014. So apparently I have become a once-a-month (maybe) blogger. I even have more time on my hands now and still don't seem to get to it very often! I have no good excuse. And I make no promises to be better about it, sorry. The eternal summer eventually did come to an end! We finished up the summer with some fun activities:. One day J and I ventured to Grand Rapids to check out Frederik Meijer Gardens. We had been there once before (last summer, I think?

The Wissinks: Jeremiah is 5!

http://arwissink.blogspot.com/2015/02/jeremiah-is-5.html

Our Life in The Mitten. Saturday, February 21, 2015. Hard to believe we have a certified BIG KID in our house now! Jeremiah turned 5 on February 18th! Let's take a little trip down memory lane, shall we? 5 years ago we brought this precious baby boy home from Mercy hospital. My heart just squeezes when I look at his sweet little face! It's funny because we thought HE had a lot of hair at birth! He has nothing compared to Hope! J at 3 months. Enough with the kisses, Mommy! Oh the cheeks on both of them!

Our Life in The Mitten. Monday, November 24, 2014. Little Miss Hope is 1 month old (exactly 4 weeks 3 days at this writing)! I can not believe she has been here for a whole month, the time has truly flown by (so sad! She is becoming less and less of a newborn! Whaaa I just love that newborn baby cry (well, not ALL the time), and all the squeaks and sighs and smells of a teeny tiny newborn baby- we are just soaking all of that up! Big bro entertaining little sis. A smile for Mommy! I really should have tr...

The Wissinks: October 2014

http://arwissink.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html

Our Life in The Mitten. Tuesday, October 14, 2014. Beginning of Fall/Waiting for Baby. It's hard to believe we are in mid-October already! And that means baby time! Hear that, little girl? However, we have not been just sitting around this fall, waiting for baby girl to show up. Because that would be so boring. And we dislike boring, apparently. At the end of September we finally found and moved into a townhouse with lots more space and in a great location for us. We LOVE our new place! I think I was suf...

Sola Gratia

Thursday, April 2, 2015. This is the life! As time goes on, I enjoy the previous posts I've made about our family more and more. I only wish I'd had more time to keep up since my last post in July! So much has changed since then. After all, we are now a family of FOUR! When did that happen? In the meantime, I've done two book signings and Micah has undergone a lot of stressful changes in his job situation. You could say it's been an extremely challenging season! We're hoping to get her some special pictu...

Chronicles of a Hijab Girl

Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Be and it is. Sometimes we question why we are faced with all the hard challenges. Sometimes we asked why we are in this position in life. For me, most of the time I asked why can't the whole world just co-exist? Why must there be wars, famine, disasters and many more? After a long hiatus! In case you were wondering how my life is now. 3) Driver's license you ask? Nope Still have not gotten it. In Sha Allah in the future. 5) And finally the last one, in the period of the last en...
