For now I want to share this poem by Wendell Berry:. Picture Wi...

Live, learn, and act for justice. Monday, May 31, 2010. Can you REALLY play football? I learned footy in Godavari. we used to roll up socks and play in changing rooms, tennis courts, handball courts basically everywhere. One of the main events of the year was when lads from St Xaviers Jawalakhel ( home nurtured brats - we were the disciplined boarders ) came to Godavari for mental arithmetic, english spelling bee and footy. We thrashed them all the time. July 1, 2010 at 12:33 PM. About Me: Emily Roche.

This is one of the oldest and main buildings. This is Xavier Hall and it is now the residence for the six Jesuit brothers and priests a...

Live, learn, and act for justice. Monday, June 29, 2009. Alright, I know these pictures have been a long time coming.but hopefully they are worth the wait! So, let's get right to the pictures. After taking three micros and a bus we arrived at the start of our trek and were met with a decent set of stairs (which I later realized was nothing compared to he next day). The start of the trek cut through the Shivapuri National Forest. The whole family was really nice, and we sat with them to share our rice and...

http://emilyingodavari.blogspot.com/2010/05/darjeeling2.html
Live, learn, and act for justice. Monday, May 31, 2010. A little more sightseeing around Darjeeling. This is the Japanese Peace Pagoda built just outside of Darjeeling. The Japanese have built a number of these in different places around the world to promote peace, and in person they are really stunning. Both of these pictures are from the main Hindu temple that sits on tip of the main hill in the center of Darjeeling. I think the pictures speak for themselves in showing the atmosphere and color. My visi...
