A Self Conversation on Cheating | The Hard Way
https://naterector.wordpress.com/2012/11/15/a-self-conversation-on-cheating
Things i probably should've learned years ago…. A Self Conversation on Cheating. So, I’m pursuing a master’s degree through Liberty Baptist Theological Seminary online. I have a test this week that is closed notes, closed book. Here is the conversation I had with myself about potentially cheating on it and opening both my notes and my books:. You can’t do that man, that’s cheating. Yeah, but c’mon. An online class that expects you not to look at over 50 pages of notes taken from 12 hours of lecturing?
Bless Our Little Hearts | The Hard Way
https://naterector.wordpress.com/2013/02/11/bless-our-little-hearts
Things i probably should've learned years ago…. Bless Our Little Hearts. Yesterday, as we passed the offering bucket around, two small children on our row each dropped a handful of coins into the bucket. It was awesome. Everyone on our row laughed and giggled and there were comments on how cute those kids were. It was a sweet moment, even for a guy who doesn’t care to use words like cute and sweet. 1 Those kids had no understanding of how little money they were actually giving. It, not in spending. Based...
books i like | The Hard Way

Things i probably should've learned years ago…. These are not all the books i like… but i don’t care to take the time to add any more. Fiction is for the weak… that being said, here’s some made up stories that I didn’t mind:. The Man Who Was Thursday. To Kill a Mockingbird. The Old Man and the Sea. Bonhoeffer: pastor, prophet, martyr, spy. Then They Came for Me. The Supremacy of God in Preaching. John Newton: From Disgrace to Amazing Grace. The Rise of Theodore Roosevelt. Communicating for a Change.

Things i probably should've learned years ago…. Confessions of a Pastor. I get jealous. Often. Now, I don’t get jealous about lake houses or nice vacations or big homes (I do get jealous of people with new mini-vans because mini-vans are the single most practical vehicle ever invented… and they’re awesome). I get jealous of other people’s success. Particularly success in ministry. How awful is that? Why haven’t you given me those opportunities? If I truly cared about God and his kingdom with all my heart...
Spurgeon on Prayer | The Hard Way
https://naterector.wordpress.com/2013/02/06/spurgeon-on-prayer
Things i probably should've learned years ago…. Charles Spurgeon ran a seminary out of his church in 19th century England. The lectures he gave have been preserved. Here is an incredibly convicting excerpt from his teachings on prayer:. Laborer. As a preacher he has a name to live and is dead. He limps in his life like the lame man in Proverbs, whose legs were not equal, for his praying is shorter than his preaching. Click to share on Twitter (Opens in new window). Nate's Reading Blog
Tuesday, May 26, 2015. Reading Week #30: Children of Men. It is the year 2027. The last days of the human race. No child has been born in 18 years. He must protect our only hope. However, this may not be a book that everyone should read. It is incredibly dark (to maintain all the realism of our world falling apart), and there is also a fair amount of adult content in here. I wouldn't recommend this book to everyone in our class. But everyone should read it at one time or another. Wednesday, May 20, 2015.

Nate takes great pride in working his barrel. Being able to react to the situation by walking his barrel in to help assist in the protection of the bull riders. Also providing a viable tool with his barrel for the bull fighters to use in cowboy protection, while also putting on a show for the audience. Nate's barrel has handles and he uses them. Working the the audience is never the same to Nate. He loves it!

Nate's Notes
November 7, 2016 · 8:56 pm. Blogger Calls it Quits to Focus on Career, Marriage. This is probably a good stopping point for my blog. I haven’t been in much of a writing mood since the stunning end to the season, and I don’t see that changing with a new job and, now, a wedding to plan. Surely people have been able to balance a full-time job and marital bliss with occasional blogging duties (and likely more), but I’m not there yet. It’s something to work toward down the road. Thanks for your readership.
