Nick Flynn | one poem for everyday in april
https://nationalpoetrymonth.wordpress.com/2011/04/28/nick-flynn
One poem for everyday in april. April 28, 2011. Where do I start? Fragment (found inside my mother). I kept it hidden, it was easy. To hide, behind my lingerie, a shoebox. Above my boys’ reach, swaddled alongside. In their childproof orange cups. I knew my kids,. Curious, monkeys,. But did they know me? To hide, it waited, the hard O of its mouth. Made of waiting, each bullet. Its soft hood of lead. Braced. Solid against my thigh, I’d feed it. With my free hand, my robe open. As if nursing, practicing.

One poem for everyday in april. Charles Bukowski →. April 20, 2011. As a late comer to Berrigan (I admit that his complete works are collecting dust on my desk), I’m going to leave it to someone much more well versed in Berrigan’s verse to introduce this poem. From PennSound:. 10 Things I do Every Day. BY THE WATERS OF MANHATTAN. Hunting For The Whale. And if the weather plays me fair. I’m happy every day. The white that dries clear. The congressional medal of honor. A house in the country.
