Native Growth
My Life in the Woods. In 2007, this city girl and her guy moved about an hour away from all the crazy and also the comforts of the urban environment and into the world of solitude and self sufficiency. It was a great decision to make the move and although not always easy, we are grateful for the opportunity to live in the woods. We are constantly learning new things about the forest, animals, etc., but also how we fit here. If you are curious about what its like, check in to see what we have been up to.

This specimen is growing in a substrate of volcanic ash emitted during an explosive eruption of Halemaumau crater back in 1790. Photo: Warren Costa. Saturday, November 03, 2012. Links to this post.
