Nationals Baseball: May 2015
http://natsbaseball.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
Friday, May 29, 2015. The Werth is Dead. Love live Taylor. If you only get your Nats news from this blog (which means your decision making abilities should not be trusted) it was confirmed yesterday that Jayson Werth's wrist was broken. It's nice that Span looks to be good again and Bryce has ascended directly into baseball heaven, but two bats don't make a team. Every other bat on the team was a question and "Will Jayson Werth return to form after injury? What are the Nats' options? The best hitter play...
Nationals Baseball: Feel Better?
http://natsbaseball.blogspot.com/2015/08/feel-better.html
Wednesday, August 05, 2015. A little bit at least? I hope so because when I say the Nats are better than the Mets, on paper at least, I'm not kidding. I mentioned this in the comments yesterday but here it is again. The Mets have 55 games left. Their best 55-game streak this year was 30-25. The Nats have 57 games left. Their best 57-game streak this year was 36-21. Just to add some perspective: Playoff series are 1-, 5-, or 7-game contests to decide which team is better. The Nats and Mets are now eng...
Nationals Baseball: October 2014
http://natsbaseball.blogspot.com/2014_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2014. Actual baseball news - and review of 3B and OF. The Nats did something! It was exactly what was expected but still it's something to talk about. They picked up Span's option. Completely makes sense. His defense fits the role the Nats need most in center and he just put up a good offensive year. He's worth 9 million typically and if he can put up those offensive numbers again he's a bargain. Could they deal him? Now on with the review show. Rendon to 2nd, sign Sandoval! Yes For e...
Nationals Baseball: Maximizing Wins
http://natsbaseball.blogspot.com/2015/08/maximizing-wins.html
Tuesday, August 04, 2015. As much as I'd like to say differently - it's not panic time. Neither team, the Nats or the Mets should really panic unless the gap between them approaches the number of H2H games they have left (6). Right now the Nats could match the Mets up to the H2H battle and get back into first with a single win. At catcher : Make sure Lobaton doesn't hit against lefties. At first and second : Pray for health. At shortstop : Don't call up Tre Turner. just yet. I know you guys are all ready...
Nationals Baseball: First Nat cap in the Hall of Fame? Not from these guys
http://natsbaseball.blogspot.com/2005/01/first-nat-cap-in-hall-of-fame-not-from.html
Tuesday, January 04, 2005. First Nat cap in the Hall of Fame? Not from these guys. The Hall of Fame vote (and shafting of the Hawk) got me thinking. Who will be the first player to enter the HOF with a nifty new Nat cap on his noggin? Quick, what's a N-word for cap? Taking a look at the players we got currently on the roster, I'd say we haven't seen that man just yet. For the similarity scores) and their accomplishments so far. 29) - 3 All-Star games, 0 Top 10 MVP, compares to Bill Madlock. Ooh, Ivan the...

Distinguished Senators: April 2011
http://distinguishedsenators.blogspot.com/2011_04_01_archive.html
Distinguished Senators, the Washington Nationals Blog That Is Great. A Decade of Intermittence. Thursday, April 21, 2011. Rick Ankiel continues to impress. Not as a ballplayer, because he's been awful, but as a story. Not only is he in many important ways just like a dinosaur. He appears to be just a heck of a nice guy. During his first trip back to St. Louis as an opposing player, Ankiel thanked Cardinals fans with an advertisement in the city’s main newspaper. The Brewers use spray charts to set their ...

Distinguished Senators: March 2011
http://distinguishedsenators.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Distinguished Senators, the Washington Nationals Blog That Is Great. A Decade of Intermittence. Thursday, March 31, 2011. In preparation for today, I finally washed my Nats cap. The thing was a disaster, encrusted literally. With the detritus of countless lawn-mowings and figuratively. With the detritus of years of Nationals fandom. Almost nothing came off. It's ground in there too deeply. And then I put my hat in the dryer and it shrank. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). I Got More Links Than Jimmy Dean.

Distinguished Senators: Intimidation
http://distinguishedsenators.blogspot.com/2015/07/intimidation.html
Distinguished Senators, the Washington Nationals Blog That Is Great. A Decade of Intermittence. Wednesday, July 29, 2015. Well look at that, the Nationals got Jonathan Papelbon. Ain't that something? This doesn't matter even a little bit, but man do I wish it had been someone else. I've always disliked Papelbon. Remember when the hacks who get to call World Series were trying to convince us that when he got ready to throw a pitch, he looked intimidating? Who's the big scary man? This outlook requires a r...

Nats Triple Play: July 2011
http://nats3play.blogspot.com/2011_07_01_archive.html
July 26, 2011. Jonny Gomes Isn't Jackie Robinson Either. So the Washington Nationals organization didn't exactly cover itself in glory tonight, did it? The big boys got whipped by Florida (of course), AAA Syracuse found itself on the wrong end of a perfect game, and Nats director of player development Doug Harris felt the need to compare Bryce Harper to Jackie Robinson for reasons passing understanding. Jonny also projects as a Type B free agent and, as has been noted elsewhere. July 7, 2011. Tanner Roar...
Nats Triple Play: I'll Take Three
http://nats3play.blogspot.com/2012/07/ill-take-three.html
July 12, 2012. Via DC. Sports Bog. The Nationals), behold your Michael Morse bobblehead:. Yessir, I'll be getting one (or two. possibly three) of those. Kudos to PNC on some fine bobble-heading. All that's missing is a "Beast Mode" t-shirt and a little button you can press to play "Take On Me". File under: Fan Experience. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Tuesday’s News and Notes. Tanner Roark quietly leads Nationals to win. again, 4-0 over the Phillies in CBP. Choosing the Compound Bow for Beginners.
Past a Diving Vidro: I don't care about Bryce Harper
http://pastadivingvidro.blogspot.com/2010/06/i-dont-care-about-bryce-harper.html
Past a Diving Vidro. The Enduring Futility of Being a Washington Nationals Fan. Monday, June 7, 2010. I don't care about Bryce Harper. All right, I care. About Bryce Harper. It's always exciting to have the first overall pick in the draft, even if it means the Nats had to be absolutely terrible to earn it. But Harper has been the default pick for months, and Mike Rizzo ending the team's coyness about who their pick is and confirming. Points out, Harper is no Strasburg. Who's at least three or four years.

Distinguished Senators: Hippocraticritical
http://distinguishedsenators.blogspot.com/2015/08/hippocraticritical.html
Distinguished Senators, the Washington Nationals Blog That Is Great. A Decade of Intermittence. Wednesday, August 05, 2015. Why exactly is Ian Desmond playing every day? The Nationals' roster construction philosophy appears to be built around a variation of the first line of the Hippocratic Oath. Instead of "First do no harm," it's "First don't hurt anyone's feelings (except for Drew Storen's).". If Hippocrates didn't say it, maybe it's not a good principle for running a baseball team. Espinosa's the mos...

Your 2009 Washington Nationals
Your 2009 Washington Nationals. Potential to be the worst team in the history of baseball. Let's follow their ineptitude together! Thursday, February 12, 2009. I'm back, folks. So, I think the 2009 Nats will be bad enough that I'm going to have to resurrect this poor blog. Look for lots of fun around here! Friday, April 4, 2008. Im posting this and nothing else. Friday, April 27, 2007. As a commenter Charlie suggested. Shawn Hill is “of course” the new ace of this staff. Wednesday, April 25, 2007. Patter...

Nationals Baseball
Tuesday, April 10, 2018. Max - AaaAaaa - Savior of the Universe. Listening to the first inning, I thought "Man, the Nats fans better appreciate Scherzer because he's possibly the best pitcher in baseball right now and at some point he won't be. He'll either get injured or lose a little on his pitches and suddenly we'll all be grasping at the occasional masterful start rather than the one that happens two out of every three nights". Then I thought - "Idiot. The Nats fans get this already". Yes Yes it is.
