Wednesday, 29 January 2014. Mild Winter Hanging In The Cairngorms. Surprisingly I managed to stay toasty warm all night, the only cold bit I had was my nose poking out of my balaclava. I thought I'd suffer with a touch of CBS so had a piece of refletix standing by, I slept right through so never really needed it. I was actually awake before Pete for once, I made coffee from the hammock and snoozed for a while. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Song of the Paddle. View my complete profile. Alan sloman's big walk.

Sunday, 20 April 2014. Far Eastern Fells - Lake District. I had a nice trip to the Lakes over the weekend with Pete and Andy, it was a kit testing trip, a start to our Cape Wrath Trail planning and an opportunity to get the legs hill fit again. We planned a short circular route as none of us were exactly 100% with our various injuries and ailments. The sun was really hot in places on Friday afternoon, we stopped for shade under some pines after one climb. Looking down into Mardale. Enjoying the warmth of...

Tuesday, 19 March 2013. On The Bonnie Banks. I hooked up with the guys north of the border for some canoe camping at the weekend, a very chilled out affair, mostly spent under the 'chute dodging the rain and chilly winds. It was good to be back up there and I hope to get a lot more paddling in again this year, some pics . Landed at the beach. The view for the weekend, although it wasn't always as sunny as this. Monday, 26 May 2014. Southern Fells - Lake District. I spent a few days in the SW Lake District last week with Teepee, more kit testing and plenty of hill practice ahead of our Cape Wrath Trail walk later in the year. We headed SW as it's an area neither of us have walked in before, I've paddled on Coniston many times and looked up at the surrounding hills but this time I would get to walk them. Emerging from the cover of the trees we're greeted with the first view of Wetherlam, our first peak of the day.
