I was slated to meet Dylan and David at 8:15 and so my day began with an extra sense of urgency to get Fiona fed, dressed, and out the door for school without an extra moment to spare. Monday, April 30, 2012. The Slug in my Kitchen. Sometimes I wish I had no heart. Really, truly. If I could just muster up the courage to be cold and heartless then I would be able to kill this thing:. It's a slug. A nasty vile creature that is way to close to snake like for me not to squirm. Then, this morning at 5 am I noticed it in my KITCHEN. Stupid vile thing. I can't touch it, or get near it (this picture was taken from the other side of my house with a high zoom lens.). Friday, April 29, 2011. I am an emotional eater. I use food as a way to bring full circle an emotion I may be feeling or to take me to a place I want to be. Food, to me, is a gateway for expression and an experience. If you come to my house for dinner and find that I have made something creamed (peas, turnips, and even asparagus) then you can be assured that I am home sick for my grandmother - she makes the best creamed peas. I returned home Sunday only to step full force into a hectic week.
