Nature Bee: January 2014
http://www.naturebee.blogspot.com/2014_01_01_archive.html
Photo of the week. Tuesday, 14 January 2014. With the extremely cold temperatures weve had for the past couple of weeks I wanted to post something winter appropriate. Pictures of an ermine with its winter fur seemed perfect. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Promote Your Page Too. Kinburn, Ontario, Canada. View my complete profile.

Photo of the week. Tuesday, 10 September 2013. Fun run for pets. About a month ago Eric mentioned that he was thinking of organizing a 10km run and donating the proceeds to the Arnprior and District Humane Society where I volunteer every Saturday as a dog walker. Photo of the week. Tuesday, 20 May 2014. 2014 maple syrup season. Here are some pictures from this years maple syrup run. It was a short season, only lasting two weeks. Eric improved his sap collection process and used a sled which meant I didnt have to collect any sap this year. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Promote Your Page Too. 2014 maple syrup season. Photo of the week. Sunday, 16 March 2014. Cross-country ski season review. It looks like another cross-country ski season has come to an end. This winter was amazing for cross-country skiing with constant cold temperatures keeping the trails in great shape. This was probably the best winter I’ve skied since I started. Photo of the week. Wednesday, 27 August 2014. I wanted to write a post with tips on camping with a teardrop trailer. Our camper is a reverse teardrop so we dont have one of the outdoor galley kitchens. Hopefully other teardroppers find some of the tips helpful. Wednesday, 6 August 2014. Rambling Gadabouts | Exploring the dusty corners of the world. Expedition: Unknown

Exploring the dusty corners of the world. Expedition: Unknown. 8220;I haven’t been everywhere, but it’s on my list. 8211; Susan Sontag –. 21 responses to “Project Banshee”. 2014/02/16 at 8:41 PM. Namibia – Nothing Short of Fantastic!! | Rambling Gadabouts
https://ramblinggadabouts.com/2014/04/08/namibia-nothing-short-of-fantastic
Exploring the dusty corners of the world. Expedition: Unknown. Namibia – Nothing Short of Fantastic! We finally found one of the dustiest corners in the world – the Namib desert! After two days of driving on silty, dusty and sandy back roads the inside of the Land Rover was plastered. Our once tidy and peaceful cocoon had become a dust bin choking us to sleep. Despite the dust the landscape and views were stunning. The hardiness of these desert creatures to live in such a harsh environment is fascinating.

Exploring the dusty corners of the world. Expedition: Unknown. Or Rambling Gadabouts chugging along a dusty dirt road in their mobile residence: a bright yellow 1969 3 door, long body Land Rover Series IIA named – Yster Ratel (Afrikaans for Iron Honey Badger). We hope you enjoy browsing the site as much as we have creating it! Cheers, Tamaira and Michel. Rambling Gadabouts Featured on Proven Overland! Confessions of a Sour Gummy Worm Addict. A Whole Lot of Hummus and a Little Knafeh……. RIP Flip Flops :(.
Supersized McKruger Safari | Rambling Gadabouts
https://ramblinggadabouts.com/2014/02/06/super-sized-mckruger-safari
Exploring the dusty corners of the world. Expedition: Unknown. We spent a total of 8 nights / 9 days camping in Kruger National Park. And enjoyed four different camps along the way: Lower Sabie, Satara, Letaba and Crocodile Bridge. As we worked our way north the visitor density dropped considerably, with Letaba the least occupied and coincidently our favourite camp. When not cocooned into our nest for the night safe from all of the wild critters, evenings were spent braaing. We arrived to Letaba 60 kms s...

Exploring the dusty corners of the world. Expedition: Unknown. A Whole Lot of Hummus and a Little Knafeh……. Sad to leave Nepal but dying to see the ancient city of Petra we made a short pit stop in Jordan before heading back to fire up the Yster Ratel in Namibia. We’ve experienced tiered attraction pricing before but the 50:1 multiplier for a day pass at Petra (i.e., JOD 50 tourist versus JOD 1 Jordanian) was truly impressive! Yeah that’s it. Oh wait, what about the erosion issues within Petra? The peopl...
Sweet Tooth | Rambling Gadabouts
https://ramblinggadabouts.com/2014/02/26/sweet-tooth
Exploring the dusty corners of the world. Expedition: Unknown. After sweating through a crippling traffic jam leaving Maputo (2 km in 2.5 hours! A bribeless border crossing and a R50 Swaziland road toll fee we looked forward to our main objectives in the Kingdom of Swaziland: hiking in the Highveld and white water rafting the Usutu River. We had the opportunity to visit the Ngwenya Glass Factory. Let’s hope the Yster Ratel keeps running strong. Next destination: Sodwana Bay. Cheers, Tamaira and Michel.
Rugged Mountains & Cow Dung Huts | Rambling Gadabouts
https://ramblinggadabouts.com/2014/03/29/rugged-mountains-cow-dung-huts
Exploring the dusty corners of the world. Expedition: Unknown. Rugged Mountains and Cow Dung Huts. Lesotho, where is that? Camping next to the river at Semonkong Lodge made for a great base camp to explore the countryside and the homemade cheeseburgers and gourmet pork sandwiches at the lodge’s Duck and Donkey Tavern and Restaurant were spectacular! Both came with delicious homemade chips and dense, almost sour dough like Lesotho buns. What a treat! Cheers, Tamaira and Michel. Laquo; Previous post. Explo...
InSANIty | Rambling Gadabouts
https://ramblinggadabouts.com/2014/03/17/insanity
Exploring the dusty corners of the world. Expedition: Unknown. Note that we’re no longer sure of the Yster Ratel’s birthdate. It was during a recent repair session that we discovered in an original Land Rover manual that our chassis number (serial number or VIN) was only produced between 1961 and 1964 not even close to 1969 as we previously believed. At 50-53 Land Rover years old, we’re driving a museum! More to come in future posts as we work to find out the exact model year. Cheers, Tamaira and Michel.
The Mozambican Debate: To go or not to go? | Rambling Gadabouts
https://ramblinggadabouts.com/2014/02/21/the-mozambican-debate-to-go-or-not-to-go
Exploring the dusty corners of the world. Expedition: Unknown. The Mozambican Debate: To go or not to go? Further proof of the theft problem, likely heightened in Maputo, was our newly made South African friends stolen Mitsubishi bakkie passenger side mirror (just the mirror, not the entire assembly) after being parked for 30 minutes while we sipped on some pops in a nearby pub. The traffic police presence was in some ways impressive. We estimated that there were more traffic police than potholes! If you...
