Monday, January 28, 2008. I was reading various doc blogs tonight and was reminded of yet another thing I love about not being a nurse is the hospital anymore: the DNR with exceptions. I had a patient once who's resuscitation status read:. If patient is in respiratory arrest, DNR. If patient is in cardiac arrest, chemical code only, no CPR, no intubation. I do not understand why doctors won't explain exactly what DNR means. It is an all or nothing proposition. Links to this post. Links to this post.

Clima-Quiddick/Climategate and prior art. Places have been exploding the scandal that's resulting from the leaked emails from the supposed Climate Research Unit. A good place if you're unfamiliar is Bishop Hill. In a perfect case example to why the technically-inclined should be respected, the now-renamed East Anglia Emails. Presents the emails in a searchable database. Much more is coming out from the data files, but that will take longer. But what I'm wondering. Science Fiction isn't supposed to be this.
