I began my practice handling matters before the U.S. Supreme Court and U.S. Courts of Appeals. I worked up appeals with scholar and advocate David J. Bederman. Prompted by the manner in which civic affairs unfolded in New Orleans after Hurricane Katrina ravaged the Gulf Coast, I undertook practice there in 2006 on the myriad flood and levee cases, and superintended a broad range of issues proceeding through court and executive systems disrupted to their cores.
