Transition to Nayland Primary School: Classroom Visits

Transition to Nayland Primary School. Pre school visits commence five weeks before New Entrants start school. Visits are held with the classroom teacher and provide an opportunity for children to form relationships with their teacher and other students in the room. On these visits the children spend some time learning classroom routines and completing a range of different activities. Transition to Nayland Primary School. We are a sun smart school so during Term 1 and 4 the children need to have a navy blue sun hat on when outside. Lunch is eaten under the shade sail on the deck by the sandpit. The children are supervised by the duty teacher. The children remain in their classrooms with the class teacher and senior student supervisors to eat lunch. The duty teacher roves through classes to ensure all children are supervised and playing happily. Preparing the school lunch box.

Transition to Nayland Primary School. Our students wear a regulation uniform which we feel engenders high standards and pride in the school and its work. Our students are expected to be clean, neat and tidy in their dress, grooming and personal hygiene. They are required to wear a navy bucket or wide brimmed sun hat in Terms 1. And 4 The children's shoes need to be suitable for Physical Education. Blue tights and thermal tops under our Nayland School uniform. Navy Blue shorts and Polar Fleece.

Transition to Nayland Primary School. Rainbow Club is an optional pre school programme which prospective new entrants and a parent/caregiver attend prior to starting school. This programme is held on Thursday afternoon and commences 5-6 weeks before New Entrants start school. The focus of this programme is for your children to get to know other children who will be starting school around the same time as them and establish a relationship with their teacher away from the busyness of the class.
