Living The Dream: September 2014
http://nb-lois-jane.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Life Aboard Narrowboat Lois Jane. Tuesday, 23 September 2014. Brinklow to Braunston to Rugby. Passed by and hovered mid canal for a quick hello and chat. Along with their friend Manel, they were just as surprised to see us and we them. It was arranged to meet up after we had met Jess off the train, and, as usual, we had a fantastic evening with them. The top lock at Hillmorton was closed for maintenance, always interesting to see what is normally below water. Middle lock at Hillmorton. Then it was a visi...

Enjoying our gap years in peace and quiet. Monday, 30 June 2014. Oil change and Brewood. Friday 27th June to Monday 30th June 2014. The lovely weather that we have been experiencing has disappeared and we are back to overcast conditions - but we really knew that this was coming - the main reason that we have not moved on Friday. The forecast was for heavy rain and even a bit of Queen weather (thunderstorms and lightning). Eventually I got it going and the engine sprang back into life - thankfully that wa...

Enjoying our gap years in peace and quiet. Saturday, 31 May 2014. New hat; sore knee; and nap time. Wednesday 28th May to Saturday 31st May 2014. We decided to take it a bit easy on Wednesday - just a casual stroll down with Andy and Sue, to the chandlery by Lock 1 - they needed a few things and you can always see something new at any chandlery; Diane also wanted to show me a clock that she was interested in at the Lock Shop. Thursday would be a better day and so it was. We both headed off reasonably ear...

Narrowboat Briar Rose: A-Wey for a barbecue
http://nbbriarrose.blogspot.com/2015/08/a-wey-for-barbecue.html
Saturday, 8 August 2015. A-Wey for a barbecue. We knew Carol and George from. Were on the River Wey, the closest connected waterway to home, so we got in touch and arranged a visit for the afternoon. The result was a big boater's barbecue, because Sue and Vic of. Were also moored at Send, with family visitors. The smallest of the assembled dogs, Molly from Still Rockin' also looked the most relaxed. It was a great evening, with good company, and an excellent barbecue by George. 8 August 2015 at 22:20.

Narrowboat Briar Rose: Pre Crick: Day 2
http://nbbriarrose.blogspot.com/2015/05/pre-crick-day-2.html
Thursday, 21 May 2015. Pre Crick: Day 2. Our locking partners were an experienced boat share couple out of Gayton, and with boats heading down the locks, we made decent progress. Some of the pounds look rather full when there are two uphill and two downhill boats swapping locks. At the penultimate lock, our lock companions were joined by their daughter and three year old grandson. He's got three years experience of boating, and like pushing lock gates! 20 miles, 7 locks. Labels: Buckby Bottom Lock. Glad ...
