These birds have really captured my heart. My pups and I spend many afternoons watching their antics in the aviary. Actually I usually do the watching while the pups nap. My mission is to keep a beautiful aviary for my own enjoyment. This is a time consuming hobby which I love. My birds are in the best of health. They get plenty of exercise flying in the aviary. They have a varied diet of seeds, sprouts, veggies, egg food, spray millet, along with vitamins and supplements.

Lake Life: Bluebird, babies & mealworms
http://lake-life.blogspot.com/2011/05/bluebird-babies-mealworms.html
Thursday, May 26, 2011. Bluebird, babies and mealworms. This was the first we've seen the babies since they fledged about 2 weeks ago. We knew they were out there . somewhere. The parents have been coming for mealworms each morning, then flying off in all directions to feed the babies. Now the babies are chasing daddy for food. Here the fledgling picked up a worm by himself. Looks like he wasn't quite sure what to do with it. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. A DC Birding Blog.
Lake Life: The gulls of Lizard Creek
http://lake-life.blogspot.com/2010/01/gulls-of-lizard-creek.html
Wednesday, January 27, 2010. The gulls of Lizard Creek. For a week or so, hundreds (or maybe thousands) of gulls chose our cove for their roosting spot. I took these photos early one very cold morning as they "came to life". Lynne at Hasty Brook. It looks like a good spot to sit and watch. What are they after? I love these action shots. Awesome pictures Susan! Lynn, we were throwing out bread and dry dog food for them. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. A DC Birding Blog.

Lake Life: Lake Gaston muskrat
http://lake-life.blogspot.com/2010/06/lake-gaston-muskrat.html
Tuesday, June 08, 2010. Here are some photos of a muskrat eating his salad, otherwise known as our (crappy) lawn. Lynne at Hasty Brook. I like watching their fingers when they eat. So nimble! I thought his claws looked a little threatening. Guess he needs them to dig all those holes in our lawn. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). For info and more photos about my indoor finch aviary. Lake Life: Small town sights
http://lake-life.blogspot.com/2010/02/small-town-sights.html
Saturday, February 06, 2010. Driving through Littleton a couple of weeks ago, I asked my husband to stop the car so I could take a photo of the horse coming down the road. The horse was not one bit camera shy. He came right up to the car window for a close up. I'm glad I hadn't opened the window. That used to happen in Fort Worth a lot, horses right on the street. Very cool. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). For info and more photos about my indoor finch aviary. View my complete profile.
