Pet birds and birding. Sunday, June 28, 2009. California has a variety of different gulls. Identifying them is further complicated by the different feather patterns exhibited by the young seagulls. California gulls are everywhere. They're at the beach, in the parking lots, they've very adaptable to human environments. This is an adult California gull. Note the white spots on the tips of his primaries. They have yellow beaks with a red spot. He looked really nice against the waves. Links to this post.

Ocmulgee River Clean Up. Two very cool little items were found.the first being this tiny ceramic miniature pitcher. It appeared to be old, but who knows? Grand Tetons and Yellowstone. As always.click on the pics to enlarge them. A quick peek with cell phone out the window as we are somewhere over Colorado or Wyoming. A few bison trudge along near Gros Ventre. I love the way the bison stick their tongues out as they grunt and groan at each other. Oodles of bison in the Lamar Valley.

Callaway Gardens in the Winter. We visited Callaway Gardens yesterday. It is free to get in during January and February, which is nice.of course, not as much is blooming. Life is but a dream…. When my English friend e-mailed that she was having her neighbors over for drinks on July 4, I asked her to send a photo. Remembering her Burns Night Supper. A couple of winters ago, I suspected that having friends over for drinks didn’t mean setting out a keg and some Solo cups under a tree.
