Tuesday, August 11, 2015. August 10 - 14 has been maths week at Napier Central school. Room 2 children have been learning to enlarge a shape by a scale factor of x2 or x3. This took a concentrated effort to count squares and rule straight lines on the lines. Here is an example. Also they have been learning new games such as Middle It and Co-ordinate Dice. Saturday, June 13, 2015. A few weeks ago the Food Bank bus came to Napier Central School, and as usual we overloaded them with food! What generous families we have here in our lovely community. H. Wednesday, June 17, 2015. Napier Central School's wonderful PTA and mothers made a tasty vegetable soup for the whole school to share and celebrate Matariki. Friday, June 12, 2015. Visiting the WW1 display at the MTG. Today room 4 visited the museum to continue our inquiry about World War 1. We were able to dress up. We participated in an activity where we had to decide what was important for our survival in various battles. We then had to dress our injuries (if we were lucky to survive). Camp 2015 Year 5.

Thursday, July 2, 2015. I think this term has been filled with craziness, madness and excitement. But the last week of the term was the best and loaded of fun! We did a variety of stuff. The first existing thing we did was on Monday and we make ooblick and if you don’t know what it is it’s a sort of slime that you can make with corn flour and water. On Tuesday we made sherbet! It’s icing sugar! Now this is sweet yum and deslish. Now it’s time to make this sherbet! But How no fridge no ice cream? I improv...
