Suz's Bookshelf Blog: December 2011
http://ncsuzbookshelf.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 5, 2011. Run at Destruction by Lynda Drews. I think this is my second true crime book. I don't know what made me pick Run at Destruction. Of course it probably had something to do with my obsession with the Nancy Cooper trial. She was a runner. And a love triangle sounded scandalous and would probably make for a good story. I give this one 3 out of 5 stars. Labels: 3 out of 5. Heaven is for Real for Kids by Colton Burpo. So when I saw the opportunity to get a copy of this book free to re...
Suz's Bookshelf Blog: September 2011
http://ncsuzbookshelf.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Friday, September 30, 2011. Mommywood by Tori Spelling. By Tori Spelling on CD at the Border's going out of business sale for like $3! I am loving some audio-books right now. And to get one for that cheap was awesome! I listened to it on my way to and from the beach Labor Day weekend and it made the drive just fly by! She is completely self-centered. (But aren't we all at times? Speaking of the relationship with her mom, she tries to act like the lack of relationship there is all her mom's fault. She...

30 Before 30 List: Book Club Friday- The Great Gatsby
http://www.ncsuz.com/2013/06/book-club-friday-great-gatsby.html
Friday, June 21, 2013. Book Club Friday- The Great Gatsby. I had to read this book back in high school, but I really didn't remember much of it at all except that this Gatsby guy was rich and threw parties and was in love with someone. When I saw the previews for the movie, I knew I had to re-read this because the books are always better than the movie versions. All of this is narrated by Nick who is Daisy's cousin(? Overall I didn't love it so I am just giving it 3.5 out of 5 stars. Subscribe in a reader.
30 Before 30 List: Finally! Paying all my own bills!
http://www.ncsuz.com/2010/08/finally-paying-all-my-own-bills.html
Tuesday, August 10, 2010. Paying all my own bills! I started getting uncomfortable with all this help and wanting to be fully financially independent at any cost around 25 or 26. I was a grown up. I should be able to afford to take care of myself financially! And don't even get me started on taxes. Thank goodness I found another job a few months ago and I am back to making almost what I made before. I still have to buy my own health insurance and I still don't have DVR. But it's ok. I'm still trying to g...

30 Before 30 List: International Traveler- Dubai!
http://www.ncsuz.com/2010/07/international-traveler-dubai.html
Tuesday, July 27, 2010. I am so fascinated by the UAE now. The people were so pretty and mysterious and the culture and sights and sounds were so interesting. My first trip abroad has left me wanting more! I was even in the middle seat in the middle row! There were 2 seats, an aisle, 5 seats, another aisle and then 2 more seats. The plane was huge and packed! I was in the very middle seat of that middle row so I had to ask 2 people to move every time I got up. (I only got up once because of this! First o...
30 Before 30 List: Bookie-Lou
http://www.ncsuz.com/2009/10/bookie-lou.html
Tuesday, October 20, 2009. I checked something off my list this weekend…I changed my very first diaper! We had a cozy girls night at my friend Heather’s house and now that Avery is older she was actually awake for most of it. She’s growing up so fast! We spent a lot of time looking through her clothes and boy she has a lot! Heather is a little fashionita, so I guess Avery will be following in her footsteps! Here's a pic of the little Bookie-Lou:. What are your favorite baby names? LOL Love the post Suz!

30 Before 30 List: #27- Read the Bible all the way through
http://www.ncsuz.com/2012/10/27-read-bible-all-way-through.html
Monday, October 29, 2012. 27- Read the Bible all the way through. I can FINALLY mark something else off my list today! I finally finished reading the Bible all the way through! Back in 2008 I decided to try an email service that was supposed to email me passages everyday and within a year I would have read the whole bible all the way through! And I bought a reading guide/journal to help me:. I really enjoy Beth's studies! These deep dive studies take a long time. Anywhere from 6-12 months! And now we no ...
30 Before 30 List: #18- Upgrade one room in my house
http://www.ncsuz.com/2012/02/18-upgrade-one-room-in-my-house.html
Wednesday, February 22, 2012. 18- Upgrade one room in my house. I have learned over the past six years that one of the most frustrating things about having a house is that it is like having a project that is never really complete. First of all it is expensive! You move in and you have all these ideas of things you want to change but dang! It is expensive to do everything you want to do. Then as you complete projects, new ones come up. It is a never ending cycle. And here are some "after" shots:. I still ...

Since I missed 10 on Tuesday and I'm still busy and kind of all over the place we're doing this bullet style today:. 1 I watched two documentaries last weekend - Miss Representation. And It's a Girl. Suz's Bookshelf Blog
What's on my bookshelf.Opinions.Recommendations.and More! Monday, August 19, 2013. Grace by Max Lucado. This is the first Max Lucado book I have read. It was pretty good, but did not blow me away. The topic of the book however, does blow me away when I stop to really think about it which makes me by default kind of love this book. The Christian is a man (or woman) to whom something has happened. Grace comes after you. To accept grace is to accept the vow to give it. It also includes a Reader's Guide that...
