Wednesday, May 6, 2015. Unit 15: Data Mining and Text Mining. When looking at translation, I used three different websites. Google translate, Babelfish and SDL free translation. I think each of the three had its own pros and cons. Google translate allows you to translate large passages then the other two. The other two you can only translate a couple of sentences at a time. Babelfish and SDL gives you a more accurate translation. For my project I am coming along nicely. Sunday, May 3, 2015. I think the n...

Digital History : April 2015

http://www.neallhistory.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html

Wednesday, April 29, 2015. Unit 13: Data Visualization. To think about the future direction of digital history you need to think about where we have come from. Over the past twenty years things with technology have changed significantly. I think it is hard for individuals to even fathom where we will be in five, ten or twenty years when it comes to information online. How many sites do we really need on WWI battles, how many resources do we need on the revolutionary war? Monday, April 27, 2015. This proj...

Digital History : Unit 14: Big Picture, User Participation Projects and Crowd-Sourcing

http://www.neallhistory.blogspot.com/2015/05/unit-14-big-picture-user-participation.html

Sunday, May 3, 2015. Unit 14: Big Picture, User Participation Projects and Crowd-Sourcing. I believe the future of interactive, large-scale projects are going to continue to grow and get bigger, as people become more and more use to them. I think it takes a long time for some educated people to adjust to changing their working styles. And that when more educators and professors start to see the effectiveness of these projects more will go into them. Just need to get started on the typing.

Saturday, March 28, 2015. Unit 4: The Evolution of the Digital Web. Here is a list of very prominent digital projects listing chronologically. I was unable to find a date for Amiens Cathedral and could not open the Lascaux project at all. The Valley of the Shadow Project. Hurricane Digital Memory Bank. Looking at these projects you can quickly tell that technology has changed from when these first couple of projects started until the later ones. Http:/ www.digitalhistory.uh.edu/.
