February 6, 2015. Discovery Baskets, 10 months. Here are this week's discovery baskets for Simon. He really liked the animals last week, so I kept them this week. In the other basket is a garlic rocker (no sharp edges), a soy sauce dish from a sushi set, and a scoop with a short handle. January 10, 2014. Putting the Textbooks Away. The Surface of Venus, by Ethan. I did a big shift in homeschooling after the New Year and put all the workbooks away. Time will tell how this works out, I tell myself, but I certainly have happier kids. Ethan is deliberate and careful. Why did it take him 45 minutes to do 25 simple math problems that are supposed to be timed and under 60 seconds? Aaron has a unhappy phrase that goes, I told you that answer already! So far, so good.
