Nebs downunder modelling

Journeys in modelling in N gauge. Sunday, 31 May 2015. Sturminster - Toowoomba Model TrainShow. Well, the 1. Exhibition is done and dusted. A 300km round trip, 2 compete days of running, good friends, great atmosphere and some cleansing ales. Was it worth it? Of course it was. The layouts joined, over 10m of frontage. I won’t say it was a panic to get it finished, but as the deadline for departure approach, more and more of the minor things were not crossed off the list. Looking into the yards. Most like...

Nebs downunder modelling: Sturminster Newton - Landscaping - part 7

http://www.nebsdownundermodeling.blogspot.com/2015/05/sturminster-newton-landscaping-part-7.html

Journeys in modelling in N gauge. Sunday, 17 May 2015. Sturminster Newton - Landscaping - part 7. So, it’s only two weeks until Sturminster is. For the first time. So much to do and so little time. As usual work has again interrupted my modelling time! With a majority of the big ticket items done, it’s now down to all the fiddly bits. Getting there, slowly. The surface within the yards area was always a concern. All reference photos indicated that the surface was at rail level. Yards road surface. While...

Nebs downunder modelling: Sturminster Newton - Landscaping - part 6

http://www.nebsdownundermodeling.blogspot.com/2015/04/sturminster-newton-landscaping-part-6.html

Journeys in modelling in N gauge. Sunday, 12 April 2015. Sturminster Newton - Landscaping - part 6. Well, one week of work down (admittedly it was only 4 days), and output has certainly dropped off! I was expecting this, but after the massive progress of the past several months, it is a bit deflating! This week I’ve managed UFO night, hold the monthly meeting (at short notice) and get in some fencing and gardening. I decided to use UFO night to work on the layout, in particular fencing. For what remainin...

Nebs downunder modelling: March 2015

http://www.nebsdownundermodeling.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html

Journeys in modelling in N gauge. Friday, 27 March 2015. After much delay, they are finally here! The Farish 4F 0-6-0 all purpose do anything loco. I've been a bit selfish and have four, including one spilt form a box set. You can read the numerous reviews in the mags and blogs, and I agree it is the best so far in RTR steam locos, even better than the recently released Farish Duchess (and I've got two of them)! Team Fowler shunt team. Why so many, so ask? Lots of included detail. Tuesday, 17 March 2015.

Journeys in modelling in N gauge. Wednesday, 25 February 2015. Sturminster Newton - Landscaping and Signal Box -part 3. Well I’m back from concreting and shed building, and now the developers are hard at work over the road dropping trees, inspiring! I started the week by tackling the front of the layout. I’ve been pondering the final design for here since, forever! So why fight it. Area to the south of the station, which will be the front edge of the layout. This went on reasonably well. This dried withi...

Monday, August 10, 2015. South East Queensland Area Group Meeting – 8 August 2015. Back to David’s this month (and hopefully back at my place next month with the building finished although possibly in the inside Craft Room rather than the outside Train Shed depending on how much has been removed from said shed! To find that a) he has a new kitchen and b) his 2mm plank has grown quite a bit – it has doubled! Were mentioned for the delay. And some N Gauge Society. Saturday, April 11, 2015. South East Queensland Area Group Meeting – 11 April 2015. First up an apology – I managed to leave my camera at home so no photos for this month. At least I am getting the report in on the day of the meeting so that’s a plus. There was 6 of us present today – Anthony had made it up from Sydney for the week so joined us but we had a couple of telegraphed absences to New Zealand and the Sunshine Coast. Don was working solidly away at the Etched Pixels. Links to this post. I have b...

Friday, April 10, 2015. Sunday, March 15, 2015. South East Queensland Area Group Meeting – 14 March 2015. As one of my former Heads of Department was wont of saying when time got away from her, day late, dollar short. So it is with this report on our Monthly Meeting. Once again we were on the road for this months get together with the hoard descending on Graeme’s house. As it happened, we had almost a complete attendance with only Anthony (stuck in Sydney – at least his digs have great views) missing in action. One I did earlie...

Links to this post. South East Queensland Area Group Meeting –13 June 2015. Same day report – don’t get used to it! 160; (And yes – apologies for not having one last month at all! Return of the Sith - Sithlord's Railway Blog: December 2014

http://sithlordsrailwayblog.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html

Sunday, December 21, 2014. Not much modelling going on what with the end of the School year, the start of the Christmas season and the preparations for a massive renovation (which will add two bedrooms to the house – so more of a rebuild than a renovation but for accounting purposes…). Stuff is being done however – Thursday nights I have been going to a mates place and getting on with my UFOs in the soldering pile.  I have been working on 5 Thompson Suburbans from Etched Pixels. Links to this post. 160; ...

Thursday, November 20, 2014. A House in Your Hand. To some of you, the title of this post will seem familiar – most likely because like me, you supported Andy Vaughan’s project on Kickstarter ( here. 160;  Now I have no connection with Andy other than being one of the supporters as I thought the idea he had was a good one and deserved to be turned into reality.
