Needlefrish´s south american adventures. Saturday, January 27, 2007. On January 24th, we said goodbye to Mendoza and took a bus back to Santiago, Chile. We took the unbelievable busride over the Andean Mountains back to Chile - we again experienced the 27 switchbacks (which are numbered at each corner) - not for the faint-hearted. All along the road was an old railroad route, long since abandoned, but the tracks still remain. Good to be home? We're not so sure yet! Links to this post.

It took about 7 hours to travel up and over the Andes Mountains - in the shadow of Aconcagua. In Mendoza, we checked out the Serpentario museum - chock-full-o-reptiles - much fun! A 60th birthday rememberance of the late-great Warren Zevon.
