Okay, so I have been thinking of rice pudding, on and off for nearly a week - but as per usual, when tea time comes around I forget about rice pudding altogether and I haven't made any yet. Sunday, 30 September 2012. When I was little (and everyone I know will now say "and you still are") in my very first infant school, when it was your birthday your name was called out in assembly. This meant that you had to come out to the front, receive your special school birthday card and then everyone would sing to you. Thursday, 7 March 2013. So, so rubbish. I have been away for so long I can hardly remember the blogging world. I can hardly remember the real world I am just in Lois' world. I have started a new job (well nearly 5 months ago now actually) so with that (hard real world work) and trying to juggle the kids (and they are getting heavier) I have stopped blogging and sewing and all things creative. Tuesday, 17 May 2011. Lately I have been making cushions! This is the first one I have made, a special, personalized cushion and I'm now making one which features a mouse with balloons (and I have another mouse in teacup up my sleeve). I know I can make cushions but I still find them a bit of a challenge, mainly because you have to make them to fit a particular size cushion pad, so you have to concentrate when you are cutting out! Wednesday, 22 February 2012. It's funny that when I make something all I see is all 'the faults' but put them away for a while and I look at them with fresh eyes and wonder - how could I be bothered to spend all that time making that? Friday, 2 March 2012. Here's a little project I have been working on. It is for my special friend Shirley who wanted a gift for her sister - I know shirley, but I don't know Angela, so I had to make something reserved, quiet and tasteful! It was a lovely commission to work on, mainly because Shirley just said 'do your thing'. So I hope Angela likes! Their wedding anniversary is not until August (how organized is Shirley! Saturday, 18 December 2010. Christmas card and Christmas presents. These are my Christmas presents for my mum and sister - hope they like them. Mia designed them and I transfered her designs into these little hoop pictures. Mia's just finished a book about mermaids - so that's her thing at the moment. So - here it is, our Christmas card, drawn by Mia (age 10), coloured by me (aged 44 - I think? Printed by Andrew and stuck to card blanks. Now all I have to do is write them. Thursday, 2 August 2012. A wedding picture for Laura. Hi Laura - Fingers crossed this is what you imagined! Sorry it's taken me so long - I finished it and then it has been sitting on the side for me to look at - I just forgot you had to look at it too!
