Needlework Notebook: Module 4 - Chapter 11 - Make a Special Structure Related to Media
http://needleworknotebook.blogspot.com/2015/06/chapter-11-draft.html
Monday, 1 June 2015. Module 4 - Chapter 11 - Make a Special Structure Related to Media. Whilst working through the chapters in this module, it has become annoyingly apparent that I had not included email and social media in my initial research, and yet it is such an integral part of our everyday lives. Excited by this, my next decision was how I should present the icons, and what would be their purpose? I soon stumbled upon the idea of folding the icons into a box, or cube. All sides would be connect...
Needlework Notebook: April 2014

Monday, 21 April 2014. Module 3 - Chapter 11 - Composite Sheet with Completed Accessory, STAGE 3! I continued to stitch lengths of cord around the side and the back of the hat, adding flowers around the front and left hand side. I left a few little 'holes' in the cording to correspond to the holes in the brim. I then attached the spiral topper to the crown of the hat, stitching by hand between the cords so that the thread could not be seen. I experimented with the brim falling down at the back. Module 3 ...

Saturday, 21 September 2013. Module 3 - Chapter 10 - Design an Accessory. Looking back at my research images collected earlier in this module, I selected a few that I felt suggested an inspirational idea for an accessory. The handles would probably be made from macrame knotted cords. I like the sample I made in chapter 5 as it forms a nice firm spiral. This would make an excellent bag handle. The plan would be to decorate this fabric further with beads of various sizes, and different shades of pink and g...

Friday, January 2, 2015. Yes, well, ahem. Seems I have lots of good intentions. But haven't accomplished much in the last two years, including. Blogging about my needlework. The truth of the matter is that I have done quite a lot of needlework since February of 2012. I just haven't photographed them or blogged about them. My only excuse is that 2013 and 2014 were doozies. Pippin and I were both sick a lot. He has since crossed the Rainbow Bridge (11 Sept 2014). I miss him so much. As you can imagine, thi...
