Wednesday, December 16, 2009. 1 cup butter, melted. 2 1/4 cup brown sugar. In a heavy saucepan, melt butter and stir thoroughly. 1 cup corn syrup. 1 can sweetened condensed milk. Stir constantly to firm ball (check thermometer to find Firm Ball temp). Remove from heat. Add 1 tsp vanilla. If you are making caramels, pour into a buttered pan. Let cool, cut in squares and wrap in wax paper. 2 cubes of butter softened. 190; to 1 cup honey (or to taste). Mix well into bowl and enjoy on scones! 1 1/3 cup water.

Thursday, March 18, 2010. 1 bunch of asparagas. 3 Tbsp olive oil. Place the olive oil and asparagas on a plate and mix until the asparagas is well coated. Then sprinkle with salt. Cook right on the grill turning once for about 3-5 minutes. 1 cup mayo (not miracle whip). 1 cup sour cream. 1 Tbsp dried dill. 1 Tbsp dried chives. 1 Tbsp beau monde or celery salt. Mix well. Good chilled. 5-6 summer squash cooked and drained. 1 can cream of mushroom soup. 1 cup sour cream. 1 small onion diced. 2 1/2 cups flour.

Thursday, January 7, 2010. Short trip to Bethlehem. In Highland this time of year you can take a trip back in time to witness the Nativity. What a beautiful reminder of the birth of the Saviour. The whole family enjoyed it, despite the cold weather. The camels were awesome, so big and loud! Its been a snowy Winter this year. Sydney and Colin got inflated truck inner tubes for Christmas and have been able to use them a lot already. Not a proper Christmas without some attempt at a gingerbread house, right?
