Praying For You
http://everydaydevos.com/praying-for-you
June 15, 2015. We always thank God, the Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, when we pray for you. Paul heard about the faith and love of the church in Colossae and when he writes to them he tells them that. He prays for them and how. He prays for them. For this reason, since the day we heard about you, we have not stopped praying for you. Colossians 1:9. Being able to live a life that is worthy of the Lord. Being able to please God. Bearing good fruit in their work for God. True worship of the Father. This ...

1 Kings

May 25, 2015. This is one of the most striking ‘Howevers’ in Scripture. The previous chapters in 1 Kings describe the massive amount of wealth and power that King Solomon had acquired. He had built the Temple and his own palace with wisdom and skill… seemingly by the blessing of God Almighty who filled that place with His Presence. God appeared and spoke to Solomon twice! Wisdom and wealth wasn’t enough to avoid Solomon’s ‘However.’ Oh those women he loved! He held fast to them and let loose of His God.

Lazy At His Feet

Lazy At His Feet. September 27, 2005. Tell her to help me! 41 Martha, Martha, the Lord answered, you are worried and upset about many things, 42 but few things are needed or indeed only one. Mary has chosen what is better, and it will not be taken away from her. Martha was busy serving the Lord. Mary was busy sitting at His feet. Jesus was enabling Mary to be lazy or so it seemed to Martha. Lord, don’t you care? Only one thing is needed what a statement! There are too many other things that clamor for my...

Fully Committed and Finishing Well. June 15, 2010. Asa’s heart was fully committed to the Lord all his life. 2 Chronicles 15:17 b. Though his disease was severe, even in his illness he (Asa) did not seek help from the Lord, but only from the physicians. 2 Chronicles 16:12 b. When Zerah the Cushite marched against Judah, Asa prayed (2 Chronicles 14:11). Here in chapter 16 when Baasha, King of Israel, marches against Judah, Asa runs to Ben-Hadad, the King of Aram. He gives Ben-Hadad enough silver a...King ...

In Just A Little While. July 26, 2013. Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith, because you know that the family of believers throughout the world is undergoing the same kind of sufferings. 8216;played it safe’. But in just a little while God is goi...

2 Corinthians

April 12, 2016. Whatever Paul’s ‘thorn in the flesh’ was, it wasn’t enjoyable. He asked Jesus repeatedly to remove it. To have the problem healed (or solved, maybe) would free Paul up for more ministry, yes? He would be unencumbered by the hardship and could serve Christ better. My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness. Our weaknesses provide the platform for Christ’s power to be displayed and for His glory to be seen! Paul captured this truth that is so evasive. We wo...
