Persepolis = City of Pars (Persia). We originally intended to spend no more than a couple of hours at this ancient. 300-500 B.C.) site. We arrived early at around 6am before the 40C/100F temperatures were to engulf our entire existence. We ended up spending almost 12 hours there (greedy tourists)!
