An Illustrator Blog.: February 2008
http://neilmaclean.blogspot.com/2008_02_01_archive.html
Notes from Illustrator 1 at the Corcoran College of Art Design. Monday, February 25, 2008. After much deliberation and soliciting of opinions, I have decided to go with the circular logo. It has the most versatility in that it is easy to read at all sizes, can be used with almost any color scheme, and evokes 'records' without even having to say "records". You can see below one way it could be used on an album cover. Posted by Neil MacLean. Wednesday, February 20, 2008. Re:Take records: The Pitch. Concept...
An Illustrator Blog.: January 2008
http://neilmaclean.blogspot.com/2008_01_01_archive.html
Notes from Illustrator 1 at the Corcoran College of Art Design. Monday, January 28, 2008. Turning a letter into another letter. Starting with an uppercase Baskerville 'G'. Thinking of turning it into a lowercase 'd', so I will remove some points on the right side and then work on turning it into the d. Using delete anchor point tool to delete some anchor points. Scissors tool worked fairly well and it looks neat, but I'm sure there was a better way to do it by somehow joining the two areas.
An Illustrator Blog.: April 2008
http://neilmaclean.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Notes from Illustrator 1 at the Corcoran College of Art Design. Sunday, April 27, 2008. Ok, I've settled on a logo, and I plan on using the type part of the logo both with the Hand mark and without, as you can see on my packaging. To clarify: this is the front and back of my coffee label (so far). I think the back (R) needs a lot more work. I plan on having nothing on the sides of the bag, just plain brown paper. Saturday Morning: 11am | Megan's Blog
https://mlipke.wordpress.com/2008/05/10/saturday-morning-11am
Just another WordPress.com weblog. May 10, 2008. It would literally be a grab and go concept. This is something I would buy for someone-and I think other people would too. I can’t wait until Monday-when this is finished. Although I have LOVED working on this project, and think it has been a wonderful learning experience, I’m stressed. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Tetra HC Product Box Layout |
https://mcrossdc.wordpress.com/2008/05/12/tetra-hc-product-box-layout
Tetra HC Product Box Layout. I was able to use live trace to transfer the low res image into illustrator. I then manipulated the coloring and shape of the plant to meet my needs. It worked well with the coloring of the logo and appeal. This entry was posted on May 12, 2008 by mcrossdc. It was filed under Uncategorized. This looks really professional and what a product like this might look like if it existed. What I like is that you avoided making the cannabis leaves overly stylized or just showing th...

Just another WordPress.com weblog. Zoo Poster and other wonderous things…. February 29, 2008. I thought this project sounded so great for two reasons: 1) I love typography. 2) I liked the challenge of making my animal using the letter forms of the animal’s name! Using small bits of information placed in interesting clumps and a simple color palette, I think I’m getting near to what I want my poster to look like. The biggest problem I’m having is trying not to make the poster feel cluttere...The time has ...
Conceptualizing the Concept | Megan's Blog

Just another WordPress.com weblog. April 8, 2008. I’ve been doing a lot of thinking about my product and packaging as I do research and also as I read other classmates blogs. I know I want my product line, Monkey in a Dress to stay completely organic and have all components be eco-friendly. I will continue to sketch-look back for logo/brand samples….Thanks! March | 2008 | Megan's Blog

Just another WordPress.com weblog. March 31, 2008. This week has been mainly dedicated to brainstorming and sketching. I don’t have much in stone yet, but here’s what I’ve come up with:. I think the company will be named Monkey in a Dress (this is what my sister was called as an infant…because, plainly, she looked like a little baby monkey wearing a dress.) I’ve started playing with logo design…that’s really where I’m at. More to come tomorrow…. Clipping Mask Project (Take 1). March 11, 2008. I the creat...

But this is kind of nitpicky so don’t really worry about it. It’s a great simple clean design and something that is unique for the kids clothing market. Leave a Reply Cancel reply. Interpreting the world visually. June 28, 2008. Posters as Portraiture: An examination of Poster Layout. June 28, 2008. Last Saturday our class made a visit to a couple of our Nation’s museums, one of which was the Portrait Gallery. We observed the Ballyhoo! The poster I chose to critique was. There is so much that affects design. It’s highly emotional and culturally sensitive. This discussion on posters proved that the designer must take into consideration a great deal. June 14, 2008. Interpreting the world visually. May 11, 2008. On a macro level, I think all of the pieces carry my brand identity to tell one complete story. I believe they all speak to my target audience and the prestige market. I think isla and Daphne beauty products would be competitive in the market given more thought and attention. Being able to visualize my product in the market and hearing that women would actually purchase it, makes me feel like it was successful. Insert Side 2 and Fine Tuning Project Pieces.
