Both me and India have changed, I treasure being here in a new way. The kolam painting stays the same around Pondicherry and Auroville, though. Proud craft by women, every morning a new (but some make shortcuts, like myself, and use paint instead of rice powder). So skillfully made, can't get enough kolams, will post more pics. The first phase can be described as if Gaudi arranged a Christmas scene on the lawns of a tiny urban village. In the second phase Nek Chand created open courtyards, pathways decorated with sculptures, complete with the king’s and queen’s chambers. In the third and probably the final phase of development life sized horses and camels are being made again out of waste.
