Wednesday, November 30, 2005. Tom Clancy's A Fucker. 1) having someone say "old boy" and "chap" does not make them british (or more british). 2) you cant solve a terrorist problem by going in balls first (the american way, i take it), and kill every mother fucker in a room, although it works the best i assume. 3) russians, though the older ones were communist, are not evil, despite what the american government says. their way fell, remember? The ARTery: June 2005
http://arteryartery.blogspot.com/2005_06_01_archive.html
Art is the lifesblood of culture. Friday, June 24, 2005. Opening : Visual Music. Lovely interactive site for the exhibit here. Because so much of the exhibit is made up of time-based media it requires your attention. You have to give the pieces time to sink under your skin, to absorb the flow of the artist's vision. Posted by Amy @ 12:41 PM. Monday, June 20, 2005. Last week I contacted JT of Thinking About Art. So the reviews will appear at his blog before they are posted here. Posted by Amy @ 12:54 PM.

Sight + Sound: Elfriede Jelinek, Women As Lovers
http://sightplussound.blogspot.com/2008/10/elfriede-jelinek-women-as-lovers.html
Things That I Watch or Read or Listen To or In Any Way Experience. Elfriede Jelinek, Women As Lovers. It is possible that the translation is poorly done, but given the elitism and snobbery seen in outside research of this author (i.e. English-speaking people who have read more Jelinek in the original German), it is just as dense and difficult to process due to unconventional use of prose. Monday, February 13, 2006. Reading Assignment: Fantasy Beyond Control. Lynn Hershman's essay ( "Fantasy Beyond Control". Poses interesting comments regarding the value of viewer-driven, interactive pieces - particularly in the form of video where playback and sequencing is affected by viewer decisions. The following notable points occured to me while reading the essay:. What is the true value of virtual reality? Addressing the first point. To what end does art in general fulfill the role of escapism?

Tuesday, May 09, 2006. Brandon Morse, Static. Brandon Morse’s installation of system-derived video work was an aesthetic treat. The systems driving the generation of these videos create nearly biological rhythms that can’t help but enthrall the viewer, despite their basic visual simplicity. Posted by Teague at 10:35 AM. Nonetheless, the usual conflict in addressing these topics as new media art is the moving target of what part is art, what part is technology? Posted by Teague at 10:15 AM. DC: DC Art News.

DC * ART * CULTURE * PHILOSOPHY. This is not really art-related, but I recently made the mistake of introducing the front end of my 1981 Volvo 240 wagon (same age as me! The front right quarter panel and front end should be in reasonably good shape, as those are the body parts I mostly need for sure. The right front turn signal lamp assembly. The following things would be nice:. Light/neutral color (white/tan/brown) to make it easier to repaint to match my car's tone. A GL/GLT model with power windows.
