Luckily this particular town had a surplus of ATM's all more than willing to give us the 200,000 kip we had to pay in fines the next morning. Camper van coffee shop! With the arrival of guests who were only staying a week we'd...

Home Is Where You Park It. The not-blog blog about our time on the road. Sunday, 29 January 2012. Answers on a postcard please. The view from Wat Phu. After crossing the border we spent our first couple of nights in Pakse, mostly hunting for an ATM that would let us withdraw cash. Eventually we found one that worked, and realised we needed to take 2 million kip out of the bank. Paying for things with 50,000 notes and carrying around such a fat wad, we've never felt so rich. Long may it last. We've spent ...

Handmade Paper sculptures, print making and doodles. I write about my work, inspirations and creative adventures. My name is Kate and I make unique paper sculptures. The models are my own design, which start off as doodles and once I've worked out the maths with my ruler and protractor, I create original, one of a kind screenprints, which I build into models. They are then varnished, which gives the sculptures a lovely satin sheen and also seals their edges and protects them against harsh sunlight. I am ...

Home Is Where You Park It. The not-blog blog about our time on the road. Monday, 17 October 2011. Life in McLeod Ganj. Unfortunately when agreeing to a shared bathroom we hadn't realised it was also shared with the restaurant upstairs – a little weird and awkward when you go for a shower and there's a queue of customers waiting outside to use the loo! Next week we'll be joining thousands of monks, nuns, Tibetans and tourists to attend a series of lectures given by the Dalai Lama in the main temple. I...
